Hey people!

Wondering if you guys could help me with something...
I'm really digging the sounds within the first minute of the song Iv'e posted below. Real keen to know how you guys think that piano / pad sound was made but more so that awesome sinus like bell sound. I'm thinking the first sound might have been a piano with like a LPF and the second sound is like a bell patch with boosted resonance?!

Any help would be grouse ;D

First sound sounds like a rhode to me.

yeh it does a bit ey

It's not a rhodes, but it sounds a little like it due to the similar effect. it's got a slow tremolo, and an autopan a lot of resonance, LPF/low filter cutoff and drenched in warm verb.

It's probably quite a standard keyboard patch underneath all that.

I think the bell sound is massive patch. Little tweaked but I'm sure I've heard it there.

Such a shame about the rest of the track though; That pseudo-swing groove (if you can even call it a groove) just sucks the life out of it and those jumpy little stabs make it worse. I hate that they felt the need to run it though the Homogenizer by ArminIndustries™ just to get it played on ASOT.

Anyways, just send a message on soundcloud to eleven.five, I had contact with him in the past and he seems like a nice guy to answer some questions. Kinda like this guy, especially Stars From Below.

Yeh I think your quite right. Haha the Homogenizer by ArminIndustries, what do you mean, are you talking about it just having that stock standard cookie cutter groove?

Cheers

wavetable synth or rompler or i guess dx7. Honestly with that much fx, it could be a dub step wobble. Massive and FM8 , ominiphere in terms of modern tools that pretty much have that covered.
