hey just bought the cd yesterday and was wondering what you guys think about it
personally i think that it is AWEsome stuff like circa-forever, rapid eye, trncefixion,Cafe del Mar etc As you can tell its a pretty good tracklisting and its all kinda original ie you wont find 4 strings on it ( this is not a bad song but when you get bombarded with the vocal mix of it all bloody day on the radio you get sick of it and also the fact that its old now)
Anyone else got this cd ? i'd recommend that you do
it would be perfect to listen to the entire 3 cd's right before all the TA's head to GK at Gas on Sunday ]
And no i am not working for the cd company who is producing the cd :tongue2
tell me what you guys think of it |

| I personally dont like buying compliations like this and the gatecrasher etc that are all engineered on computer - it doesnt have the same feel and emotion to it as a mixed disc IMO |

All professionally released CDs are "mixed" ... kinda.
Basically what happens is the DJ does the mix 100 times and then what they do is they cut and paste and edit it all on a computer so only the best mixes go in. Also they take out some of the breakdowns or verses etc so they can fit more tracks onto the disc.
To quote somebody here (can't remember who) "If you think PVD made Politics of Dancing in one go, you're sadly mistaken". |

I dont buy trance CDs like this either anymore. I felt sick the other day when I went into HMV in the city to see a walla of Trance Nation 4 and 2001 looking at me for only $20!!!! then behind was that Trance Central and GK trance and some Trance anthems ! :whip: :whip:
Now I mainly listen to prog trance, deep house, breaks, GU style stuff. But I still spin trance. Don't think Ill evere stop playing that! ITS TOOO GOOD! |

| joof is actually one of the few djs like nick warren who does the mix without the aid of protools...what u hear is what u get..only for some little editing if they need to shorten the mix for cd |

Sasha & Digweed - Northern Exposure 2 has on the back cover a note that says something like the mixes on each CD were straight from vinyl unaltered, and so hiss and pops are expected to be heard.
I rarely buy mixed CDs these days, I buy unmixed compilations and CD singles so that I have the satisfaction of knowing that I have awesome tracks in their complete form.
You can go from full standalone tracks -> mix
but you can't go the other way around.
Mixed CDs and live sets are often good though in discovering good tracks. Then I go and look for complete standalone versions of the tracks.
Sorry for being a bit off-topic... I haven't heard Summer trance, but I do have Godskitchen Journeys which is good. |

Thats the same as on the back of Oakeys 007 New York. Made my day when I read that! |

| Why does everyone love GU007 so much?.. i bought it in high anticipation, only to be very disappointed. I dig that Jamie Myerson track on CD1, i think its song 2. But the first tune bores me, Summersault is decent. Then all the tunes after that do nothing for me. Plus the mixing is really awkward to me, doesn't flow that well. Ah well, just my opinion :) |
