i actually watched a story on here and the record companies in whinning like bitches because they lose money. When actually they are losing 5% of there income from last year. So instead of makin 500 million a year they can only make 480 million dollars a year. I guess they really wanted that second yacht this year, i guess not.
I feel no sympathy for these in bastards, they are trying to ruin the internet and mp3s, so they can go themselves! |

This is what they do indeed, kids are tricked into liking the music because of constant advertising etc. Makes me sick it really does.
Robbie Williams new deal with EMI today for £80 million was it? Yeah like he cares about the people who are buying his records. He just wants the money and the that goes with the fame.
pfft if EMI can afford £80 million contracts then they canafford to bring the cost of CDs down so that more people can afford them.
CD's these days are in no way value for money. |

Changing whether or not a bunch of circuits in your computer have strong or weak electrical signals is not stealing, it is simply modifying the state of property you 100% own. |

wow, she's smart, isn't she? Someone please tell her that, if we support the artist, the fact that we're not paying for this tune today doesn't mean we won't go to a record store and buy it tomorrow? How many CD's have I bought because I had gotten some mp3!? Several!
Greedy bastards  Don't they realise that's the cheapest way to show their music to people? |

So they have money to pay for this campaign but can't suck it up and just leave the mp3 world alone? I bet they're wasting more money paying the "artists" that are involved in this, than they "lose" cause of mp3's.

My ass!! Ever since Napster came around, CD sales have risen.
quote: | "Would you go into a CD store and steal a CD?" pleads Spears in her spot, which first aired yesterday at a congressional hearing on music-piracy legislation. "It's the same thing, people going into the computers and logging on and stealing our music." |
Downloading music and walking into a store and stealing a cd isn't the same thing. First off, if I stole that CD, I wouldn't come back the next day to pay for it if I liked it. Secondly, downloading music makes it much more conveniant for people to "try" before they buy it. And if they don't buy it, tough . Suck it up, $2 million won't make a big difference.
quote: | "Yes, my friends, the artists are hurting badly. It is estimated that many of them will only make $100 million or so this year. They are starving and will soon be homeless. Eminem moving back to Detroit with his mother. Britney Spears moving into a car. And Elton living in the trailer...Here is how you can help: Just be willing to pay $20 for a CD that should sell for $7 and you can make for $4," writes one Afton Okla in the alt.general newsgroup. |
lol...props to this guy.
quote: | "I understand why people download music, but for me and my artists, this is our livelihood," Puff Daddy implores his fans in support of the campaign. "When you make an illegal copy you're stealing from an artist. It's that simple. Every single day we're out here, pouring our hearts and souls into making music-what if you didn't get paid for your job? Put yourself in our shoes. |
The level of stupidity and ignorance in this line is unbelievable. Of course I'd be pissed if I didn't get paid...but I do get paid...and so does P. Diddy...put yourself in our shoes, the people who work their in asses off everyday, the people who can't afford a new car every year, and the people who work twice as hard in one week than you have in a whole year. Dumb. |

these are the creme de la crap.
Anyways, i'd like to make three points.
1) Downloading liscensed MP3s is illegal. Just as illegal as jaywalking, tape copying, and other minor things. Dont say its not illegal.
2) RIAA made the stupidest move on the face of the earth by sueing Napster. Why? Because it was all in the papers, in the converstations of 40 year old who now download their Dixie Chick's album because they heard about Napster in the news, and not buy it. The RIAA made mp3 downloads the norm for the common American. I mean, the movie industry didnt sue VCR makers, because you can easily go to Blockbuster and copy a tape. However, people dont do it because its not the norm.
Some people are gonna get things the free way. (free cable, free software, free music.) Some ppl are gonna get it the hard way. However, the RIAA opened up MP3 downloading to everyone. Smooth move u dumbasses.
3) I dont care that Britney Spears bitches about her millions she loses. (even though NOONE burns her cds, they buy them because they like britney, few ppl dl her muzak.) What does piss me off is the RIAA thinking that they have control over the global music scene. They had no respect for us AG users that had NONE of their american pop labels, they just dismisses us all as pirates. Maybe they should have made their own ing blocking system to block out their stuff and leave us alone
ARHGRHGRHhhh i miss AG. |

Let's think here....CD companies admit they are price fixing and pay out millions and now those idiots want us to stop downloading mp3's...hmmmmm i never download their crap anyways. Hell they are all guilty of something, britney being a hoe, cancelling her mexican concert for no reason.
But KPMG (marketing company did a study)... They released the following information.
Reason why the companies are losing money is not because of P2P software, it is because they are concentrating too hard on locking their own music up rather than concentrating on their own business models for the web.
So true, because they are KILL MP3's, KILL Mp3's....they don't concentrate on their own business. I wait for the first cd company to embrace mp3's completely..they will kill the other companies and make a fortune and all these idiot execs will realize this.
Another thing, all burners and cd-r's or cd-rw's have a built in cost and it goes to the companies but do they pay it back to the artists...nope....i bet most of it goes to pay the execs salary...hilary rosen....CEO of the very evil RIAA...makes 5 million a year.
Another thing, they blame sagging music sales on mp3's but hold on..KPMG again states the following...it is because not enought artists are releasing albums and not enough artists are making good albums. Also they say the cd companies are too busy spending money on the legal battles with mp3's and the technology that they neglect to properly market albums.
Personally I would buy more albums if the artists made better albums and it was not such a cash grab. Oh and I shall pay no attention to all these RICH MILLIONAIRES telling me to stop downloading mp3's because they just want more damn money. All of those people are basically set for life and they want more money. All of those artists will say I don't want you downloading mp3's but they will commit another crime or something....keypoint....metallica (they suck btw)..got in trouble in 1984 for what.....BOOTLEGGING songs and releasing an album and 18 yrs later, they are still complaining about it....but they did it in 1984 but they are just rich. Also dr.dre complains....don't download mp3's...ok fine...but then again..why did he get hauled into court for stealing Lucas's THX trademark and using it on an album without permission. If you are going to say something...back it up with an example. |
