I just realized that I didn't do one of these last year. Oh well, how was this year for you guys, production-wise, and what are your plans/goals for 2014?
My year was a roller coaster. I managed to finish a dozen songs or so, but studio time was hard to come by due to a busy work schedule, family time, and busier than usual social life. I also lost my Dad this summer, which really made it difficult to focus on music. On the bright side, I've been working pretty actively with two singers over the past two months and have a few other collaborations in the works, so things are looking up. Now, if I can just find more time....
For 2014, I plan on using this momentum to dig out of this slump and conquer the world. I may also get back into live gigging again, but we'll see. No specific plans beyond that, though. :) |

2013:
- completed a raw continuous mix including 10 of my favorite previous trax from the last 10 years in one big project with over 150 channel.
- finished the material for a remix-single of some of my old stuff in new mixes which i plan to release jan/feb next year.
- finished a brand new track which I really like myself. first time in years and it was no hassle what so ever. seems my inspiration is back and im really happy about that but im not sure what to do with the track as it is really weird (in a good way imo).
2014:
- will focus on and my mixdowns and general soundquality of my tracks.
- will probably release most of the above mentioned material if i succeed fixing up the sound.
- will try out new genres and ideas, and hopefully finish a few more tracks.
- try to enhance my monitoring-situation (monitors/soundcard/room).
- maybe, just maybe, get some outboard instruments (synths or whatever).
Ive learned that I should never try to set myself high goals, because I never reach them and always get bummed down by it. instead i try to put up diffuse and simple goals which i might exceed instead and then be happy about it. |

same here, my wife gave birth to my fourth kid and 2nd daughter. Moved from DAW to Cirklon. Became near militant on my own hobby productions with my "analogue only" fetisj. No rationale to back that up, just passion :D
For 2014 besides of course the mastering activity, I would like to deliver a full analogue album as hobbyist artist. Based upon my recent experiments. far from polished, more raw and live recorded. but for sure without a PC. |

Well I've had quite a productive year, my first artist album is very near completion now and though I was hoping to have had it finished and released by the end of this year, it's looking like it will be coming out very early in 2014.
I've been spending more time with my son lately, who's now a 7y.o. after much hassle with the ex going through court and . Glad the worst of that is behind me now.
I have several soundbanks and a sample library in the works that should also be out sometime next year, with a website set-up for the business.
It's very likely I'll be moving to Melbourne to study for a BA in fine arts, which I'm really looking forward to and getting away from my current menial day job.
Also have some DJ gigs lined up for some neat parties here early next year, so I've been preparing and getting some things ready for those.
Pretty excited at the moment I must say!
