Now this makes me sick.......

not sure how valid this article his, but either way this is what makes me sick.....I don't listen to any of this crap this guy s out, but still its pretty sad, yet interesting at the same time.....

Bottom paragraph summarizes the entire american music industry........

What makes these corrupted powdered nosed celebrities think they can stop over 1 billion people, I don't know. Its not gonna happen. I guarantee you, the 1+ billion of us could give a rats ass, if you're not making a dime......As if these corrupted money consumed s are going broke......

Musical celebrities don't realize, comments like these are hurting them, more than helping them. What they are basically telling their fans is, "I'd rather you pay for my music, than hear it for free". What does that tell you.

If I EVER heard a DJ say the same comment as eminem did in that last sentence of the last paragraph, I would never, ever consider listening to that DJ again. Cuz thats not what this music in general is about....Unfortunately, in the american mainstream music industry, its what its ALL about, money.

Its one thing to ask for money to support a striving artists/or to support costs, but its very clear, these artists have money flowing out of their ass, and seeing them want more money, makes me sick.

Greed is a terrible thing. It can and will break down the weak minded. It explains why over 50% of celebrities die of drug abuse, among other things. Because they just can't get enough. Next time you think a celebrity is living "the life", realize, they're not. Simple comments like eminems, show their extreme greed and dissatisfaction with what they have. Also shows you, they'll never be satisfied and they're obviously not happy enough. You're satisfied and happy, when you ask for NO more......

I'm done with the novel. Comments always welcome.

Remember, if you can hear the music, you can record the music.

Music should be expression of what you are, not how much money you want. American music entertainment is a ing joke. With the exception of a few(notably electronic acts), I say, 'Once you go Pop, you can't stop".
Eminem is a perfect example of this. What was a very talented(still is) and fitting icon of the hip hop underground(diverse and talented, yet knows to keep it real...till now), turned into a POP star...NOT a rap star, but a pop star. He was lucky enough to have one of the best producers EVER in the music industry to spot him at a Freestyle Olympic event, and now look at him....people might think he has elevated himself to anoher level, yet in reality he has degenerated into a capitalism-money leeching celebrity who is grossly overpaid like every other celebrity. In my eyes, I think he's more pop than some of the other pop artists out there. Eminem started out right, and is going down wrong.
These people claiming to work hard for their money are lying hippocrits and nothing more. Sure, it takes once a few years to have a person talented enough to come out and be signed to a record label, but what happens after that? You have another Eminem, another American Idol...JUST what the country needs right now in these times of falsification(U.S gov't anybody?) and recessive economy(another overblown media projection), is another money making commercialized record act who writes....no, SINGS nursery rhymes written for her or him.

wel, these high profile acts earn too much money, what they earn is not in proportion to what they do. these people can make millions from just one song! they are still dissatisfied with this? and now they want more?? they want to stop mp3 d/l? thats ridiculous

"I work hard and anybody can just throw a computer up and download my music for free. It could kill the whole purpose of making music."

this line right here epitomizes the mentality of artists like this. What he's saying is the WHOLE purpose of making music is $$$$$.

what happened to the whole element of artistic expression and making people happy?

:whip: :whip: :whip:

and djohn yea i agree eminem started off OK, but rite now his music is produced for and aimed directly at the mainstream
rollypoles
yes...awesome...i agree with you guys....but, hey, i would like to get some money too for doing nothing....but thats probably because i am lazy.........
InfiniteSquare
The reason Eminem is doing it for lots of $$$ is because his music sucks witch .

i cant believe he said that. if thats his "whole purpose of making music" what a ing sellout. music is not made for money what about the ing millions of up and coming producers spending ing insane amounts of money and time with not so much as a single release... the amount of effort and time put in... the reason is cause they love the music... not the fat paycheck in fact most of them have to budget such an expensive hobby with all other aspects of life too without heads like eminem who gets paid an insane amounts for i bet he doesnt even PRODUCE himself. thats not what music is about. the cash is nice but it shouldnt be the purpose!

Boy, that's sad. And I don't mean eminem, but all of you.

I totally agree with eminem. The point is, once you decide to make music for living, you depend on selling records. Even worse, today there are no more superstars as there were in the past. Stars that sold millions of records over decades. Today you can expect to be a star for like 5 years or so, then you'd have to totally reinvent your style to stay on top of the sales charts. If you fall, you have nothing, most popstars today don't even have proper education as they sacrrifice school for career.

Once you are a celebrity there is no way back. Imagine Britney Spears working in a fast food restaurant after her career ended... :D

IMHO it's a totally different situation with electronic club music. This stuff is mostly just a tool to get people dancing so only sells to DJs. (and addicts :toothless ) Many of the producers are DJs an earn their living form that or from having their own label and selling a lot more records by that, than only one artist can do.

Now I don't want to defend popstars... I hate their way of living and the fact that, the more popularity they gain the more money they get, but please remember there is always another side.

I'm sorry but that's your own choice. BTW as Eminem said,"btw it could kill the whole purpose of making music", the purpose of stealing and robbing seem like the same as your purpose of making music. And that's your own selfish purpose. Explosive was made to lead a easier and better life of human. Then the same selfish purpose cursed the fact.

I'm sorry if you mean that a celebrity is some kind of career that surpasss a worker in a fast food restaurant.

Whatever. I'm disappointed enough when I read sth like this. What a wonderful world we're living in.
And I apologize if it sounds too harsh. Cya bye

Then again, if you were Eminem or even Armin Van Buuren, i'd guess YOU would give a rats ass if your music is being downloaded..

Making music is about passion, not the money..

I mean in the near future if i can make quality music like Armin, in the middle of the creation i wouldn't be sitting down and writing my wishlist or something...

Ill invest time and passion like many NORMAL Djs and artist who do it for everyone and them selves..

I don't think Eminem is self centered but he is ING SELFISH..

I hate the prick.
_The_Storm_
well, I think he's an too.. and saying that "the whole purpose of making music" is getting money for it.. jesus. but artist should be payed for their music.. you know mp3 downloading opf copyrighted tracks are ilegal.. unless you give the permission to. (in the underground scene artists are more likely to support the mp3 scene as they get more known thanks to it - mainstream artists only need mtv to become known) so he's got a point for wanting the cash, though he doesn't deserve it and he's a sellout wanker.
