Yeah man, saw that Marco Carola shindig at Bleu (that place is good btw!!). Anyone else feel like DEMF is some sort of continuation of WMC? I feel like I was just researching afterparties like it was my job...back to doing the same all over again. Lol...
But yeah, Flying Circus, Marco Carola, and Interface 47 (holy ttt) so far on the Sunday. This is a dilemma for sure. Marco or Interface...Interface or Marco. Based on everythign I've heard about the Interface parties, probably makes sense to do that one in the end. |

Ok so I went ahead and bought a ticket for this as I said I would: 
Now gotta decide what to do on Saturday night. I'm going to be absolutely beat by Monday night, no need to do anything for that -- at that point a good night sleep before my morning flight will hit the spot nicely.
But anyways, Saturday night...THIS:
Like, this isn't even a debate right? I figure, if I'm gonna do a techno weekend in Detroit, then I'm gonna do a ing techno weekend in Detroit! Will be a little intense doing all the sick techno at the festival itself and then doing back-to-back dirty, evil shows in the midst of that but I just can't help it. Plus Bleu is a dope spot and a nice club will be a nice contrast to the festival and Interface's warehouse venue.
Dave, definitely down to see Dixon and Adriatique, gonna need some good vibing tunes to help purify my soul from the techno destruction I'll be witnessing! |

Couple of things...
1. Underground Resistance closing out Main Stage on the first night is going to be just epic. Really sucks that it's at the same time as CVS and Stacey Pullen but when are you going to be able to see a show like that other than DEMF?
2. Sunday night late night conflicts: Hawtin, DJ Sneak, Mike Huckaby, Robert Hood. in' damn. I was hoping Hood would get the mainstage but he's in the underground stage...which is by far my least favorite stage. Yeah it's got a warehouse vibe but I hate the acoustics in there and it's in hot. And it always seems to be the "crackhead" hangout of the festival. DJ Sneak closing out Beatport is going to be a lot of fun, same with Huckaby closing out Detroit stage. And then Hawtin closing out Main stage is always a treat -- I might be one of the few that still can't get enough of his style.
3. Sunday mainstage: Carola, Digweed, Hawtin. W.T.F. Love the Beatport lineup early in the day with Adriatique, Buttrich, TMB. Perfect day right there...Beatport in the afternoon, mainstage at night.
4. Monday Beatport is just in' interesting. Just a unique lineup that you're not going to see, ever. That place will be jumpin'. Jeff Mills -- again why do you have to be in the underground stage?? Mainstage is again sick, no way I'm missing Cox close out the entire festival. Gonna be bouncing around Detroit, Beatport and Main that entire day until Cox. Love how KMS is curating the Detroit stage that day -- looking forward to DTM ripping it. Sucks it's the same time as Carl Craig...soooooo many conflicts this year. |
