there isnt a japan forum on TA :( so posting it here :)
mari (apsara) played in the lounge while i was in tokyo but main room reminded me of 1015's old basement. pitch black but two stories tall (underground, top floor being a pretty nice restaurant that you can go in and out of). crazy sound by rey audio, never heard of it but one wall was all speakers pretty much. dj in the main room was takkyu ishino who has done some euro festivals. played a sick all vinyl techno ~8 hour set (maybe longer). think its the first time i've stayed up until 6AM'ish in a awhile :stongue: :tongue3  dont go out much nowadays (think i only went out for some locals, holden and pvd), but he would of been my top choice this year :haha:
didnt check out womb it self, not to exciting line up while i was there. did check out the lounge next door when mari played. cool little spot. reminds me a bit of that club that dirtybird used to throw parties at on mission in sf. name escapes me atm. audio was funktion one but not tuned. decor by the promoter was pretty awesome for a halloween night. just about everyone was in costumes including myself :D have pics of this night but still havent gotten the okay from the promoter to share em. there is an odd city law about DJ's after 12:30AM and having people dance.
one place i did really want to checkout but didnt get a chance to do so was origami. suppose to be really nice. maybe next time along with ageha! |

Cool. I went to Womb on a thursday night the 1st year it opened up by random luck as were exploring Tokyo's districts. I'm guessing it was the main room and it had to be one of the loudest rooms I've ever been in. tall, and narrow and not too deep. Didn't realize there was restaurant up on the 2nd floor. It seemed all closed off.
I've heard Apsara play in Jakarta. She was pretty good. She's as cute as a button, and doesn't play what you'd expect just on appearances. |

i hit up Air a few years ago for Kevin Saunderson.... i remember the taxi driver only got me close and i got lucky following some people that I guessed might be going. Walk up to the door of.... the restaurant... thinking am I at the right place?
The whole night and walking down 2 levels of stairs to the club reminded me of a scene from Black Rain if you guys remember that. |
