K, it has come to a point that I believe I need to make a decision.
Fact of the matter is I live in a townhouse with very thin walls. My computer speakers disturb my neighbors and so...monitors are out of the question. I need headphones.
My research has me shelling out the $$ for the Sennheiser HD600's.
However, in my findings I am reading that I will probably need a interface as well? To be honest, my soundcard is crap. Should I just replace my soundcard and plug right in with my new headphones, or should I get a usb audio interface? And what is the reasoning for this?
Could really use some help with this.. |

Hey man, from what I've heard Sennheiser is a good pick for headphones. I use AKG's for my headphones. Definitely grab an audio interface to hook up your headphones to. Most interfaces have a built in soundcard and the drivers will install to your computer. I use NI Audio 6 but I don't know if I would recommend it because I have a lot of latency problems (probably just a driver issue I haven't figured out yet). You will definitely hear improvement in your mixes with an interface though. Also most studio headphones need an amplifier and my interface works pretty good for that as far as I know. Good luck |
