just get urself to Shindig one day, come for Deep Dish or even better Satoshi Tommii, we all know you love him Ste. And just casue i read the metro newspaper alot, the club listings poin out nicghts, and the powerehouse has gay nights like every night, and theres this gya bar called Rockies thats where i get my poppers from, but theres this place in shields called jump, and if you ask for room odorizers he opens this cupboard and asks you which popper you want, as for dodgy places, id say foundation is in a dodgy place cus its in the middle of nowhere, nothing around it, but its a perfect place to relieve yourself, becasue no one can see you and there are no lights around. Yo evil bastard dude man woman, when you going to shindig you wimpy mackem.

I'm probably going to see Satoshi Tomiie at the end of the month, and maybe Deep Dish too. Scot Project is a definite too. But other than that, funds are tight :(

"id say foundation is in a dodgy place". It's in Byker, what do you expect? :D Well it's on the very edge of Byker to be precise, not that far from the city itself. The area int that bad though, the Promise lot are generally friendly, it's Ikon nearby it where people have been murdered - that's well dodgy. Sometimes they have sniffer dogs at the entrance, I've had the regrettable experience of gannin there a couple of times (for friend's birthdays  ) and I was started on every time, one time a knife was drawn on me because apparently I "looked" at someone. It's full of wankers.

I'd say Foundation is one of the safest places in Newcastle on a Friday night that I've seen (and I've seen most of the clubs on student nights out before), and worked in the notorious Bigg Market as a glass collector for a few months. Compared to that, Promise has got it easy security-wise. I think they chose a great location for the club, well out the way of all the troublemakers.

Oh and I'm no mackem  :whip: ;) I live by the Tyne and I drink Newcastle Broon. If it were up to me Sunderland would be walled off :toothless :tongue2

A brave one!
It's location works, though, cos you don't get any 'passing trade' from the Bigg Market - all the people are there because they want to got to the club, not because they want to get pissed or pull. Hence, the atmosphere is better, and the crowd tend to know their stuff and love the music.
Unless Matt 'Stiffcock' is playing :clown:

I've never been into Byker, but I've been told it's by far the nicer end of Byker, on the outskirts of the city centre.

It's too far and too unlikely a place for a nightclub to be to accidentally stumble upon it. So if you're in town looking for a fight and/or a shag, which just about everyone in the city centre is there for, Foundation is a half mile walk away, so most people congregate on other clubs cos they can't be arsed (and also cos the beer is much cheaper than in foundation, for example the all-you-can-drink night at the boat for £10).

Often, in Newcastle, a shag and a fight with the same person at the same time. In public. Don't you just love Geordies:happy2:

okey dokes: who is gonna be going this friday?!

i am, and dj ravespunky, puke, gibbon and my cousin from northumb uni, who never goes proper clubbing, hehe :D

Nervosa, that happens in every city centre really, it's a good idea to keep the trance club well out the way really, even if that means it's in Byker! I bet the rent is a lot cheaper for a club out of the city centre too.

Is anyone going to either of these warm-up bars? There's usually supposed to be one at Stereo bar on the Quayside which is a Promise/Shindig warmup and at Egypt's Cottage somewhere in Byker I think. Probably your typical warmup kind of music, progressive house etc. It's better than nothing though surely.

I'll be there tonight for Scot P.

I'll be wearing a Lass Collector t-shirt and be the one who looks like a cross between Dr Evil and a wingnut :D
