Anyone heard about it?, the creator (Noboyoshi Sano) is a Japanese video game composer, musician and record producer, here's the promo of this "music workstation" based on the KORG keyboards:
I know is very simple but, atleast for me sound pretty effective, there's a extended version of the trailer tune:
What do you guys think? :conf: |

I remember Korg Ds-10 being released on DS back in '08, it had great reviews saying it was a great piece of software and limited only by your imagination really, but the only downside was there was no way to export your creation. It does however teach you the basics of a modular setup letting you use patch cables within it.
I saw this on the eshop last month but $35 is pricey and I don't think you can export on 3DS either. |

I'll eventually pick this up since I'm sure I'll get my moneys worth.
EDIT: I guess the MO1D is basically DS-10 but with some extra sounds from the Korg01/W. Probably looks good on the XL is you have it. |

You can always record the audio into your multitrack through the headphone out on the DS, I guess that can be frustrating for folks that are used to doing all their composing within the same interface though.
I looked at it only briefly but it doesn't seem to have parameter automations, so you can't do filter sweeps on it? You'd think that would be a mandatory feature by now. It does look like you can do parameter edits by hand during playback though.
Upon further inspection, you can export the midi onto the 3d's sd card, one assumes you can also import it that way.
Seems like it'd be a fun thing to play around with, how much does a 3ds run these days? |

| You can get a 2DS (3DS but with no 3D) for like $129.99 I think. 3DS right now is my favorite game system I think... Soul Hackers baby :disbelief |

There's also two 3DS version with one having screens double the size. It's probably my favorite system as well...just beat the new Zelda:ALBW which featured some of the best music in the franchise. If you haven't yet, play Kid Icarus:Uprising. |

| Aw men u should really get a fully fledged daw if you want to make music, I wouldnt look too deep into this seeha guys work, the guy probably has perfect pitch and is some mutant genius. If you can find a cheap used copy of reason 3 or 4 that would be brilliant. Then again dont let me crush your dreams like I crushed my own :'( |

Yeah, I figured the dude is probably some genius trained since he was little but it's still pretty fun just to mess around with it. Also what the heck happened, why are you hanging it up? |

little portable musical toys are fun.
I'm particularly fond of sunvox on the tablets |

i ordered a 3DS a few days ago coincidentally. is this out in the UK, thought it was jap-only?
definitely looking to get a hold of this. would be great to around with on lunch break or whatever.
i like how these things are packaged and condensed to make it easy to get to grips with. whilst they will be looked down upon by snobs, i think they actually have some real value to a beginner - by not scrambling their brain and letting them learn the basics. and i'm sure a master would be able to produce some half-decent results on it. |

This thread is going a tad OT but yeah I just beat Link Between Worlds as well and LOVED it (Link to the Past is my favorite in the series, of course, so how could I not?)
Kid Icarus, I wanted to like... since it's such a well-produced game with great graphics and humor that taps into oldskool Nintendo nostalgia (which I'm a sucker for, if the username didn't give that away! )... but I struggled with the controls too much.
If you're into RPGs at all I'd highly recommend Shin Megami Tensei 4 and Soul Hackers. |

Right...this is the kind of thing I could only dream about back in High School study hall.

Yeah, that's the games Achilles Heel unfortunately. That stand they gave you was pretty stupid. I might get a circle pad pro sometime to make things easier...still can't believe all that fit on one cart.
I was a Sega kid growing up but, Ocarina of Time was my first Zelda game. |
