I don’t really enjoy alcohol to be honest, but when I do drink I tend to prefer lagers that are crisp and light but not too low on the alcohol content. Ichiban Kirin, Asahi, Cusquena or Quilmes, for example. I’ve also developed a soft spot for Estrella Damm after visiting Barcelona in the summer. At night you get hordes of guys (almost always Asian) wandering around the streets selling mysteriously cold cans of beer for €1 a pop. “Señor cerveza”, I dubbed them, and 99% only sold Estrella.

Chang’s alright actually. A mate of mine who spent 6 weeks in Thailand claims it contains traces of amphetamines over there. I’ve no idea if that’s true, but the concept of a beer that actually perks you up instead of steadily dragging you down into incoherent stupor appeals to me.

I feel really sick when I drink beer, but I can drink straight single malt scotch to extreme inebriation without any problems. Weird, huh?
