When did Beatport reintroduce sub-genres?

I just discovered, quite by accident, that Beatport has reintegrated sub-genres, which previously went out the window when they switched to the new interface. It's still prone to rampant mis-labelling (browsing "Progressive Trance" is enough to make Mattsanity cry) but I for one welcome its reintroduction. Being able to sort Techno down to Acid Techno is particularly useful.

I went a long Beatport trawl yesterday and it was the standard labeling. Must have just been implemented, although just doing a quick search it looks to be the same here in the US.
Interesting news if it comes here, as it could significantly reduced the time I spend searching. |

You can access it by going on the genre page, where you’re shown a list of tags you can filter by. I could be wrong but I was sure they removed the feature, which is why I stopped searching by genre.

I really wouldn't rely on Beatport for this

Anything that helps spark brand new searches is welcome. As a result of it I've already found and crated about 15 tracks that were a million miles away from any artists or labels I followed previously. There are too many tracklists going around these days where you can practically see the Beatport search pattern in front of you.

Thanks for the heads up on this, this is how I remember using Beatport years ago. It really helps you find those obscure artists/labels. Using it has already refined my Ambient/Atmospheric Jungle searches instead of just clicking on Drum n Bass.

Oh, by the way Syntonic... I'm just polishing off a new atmospheric drum 'n bass mix. Can't decide whether to release it now or wait until the Theme Challenge is over.

You could release it to me.:)

I was on Beatport last year and it was there (searched melodic techno). I didn't realize it'd gone away, but I don't use Beatport a lot.
