yea i get what you mean. 10 years ago all i knew was trance. thats when to me trance was really on top of the world.
around 2010 it just all started to slowly decline
uplifting/epic trance these days is really hard to find
alot of trance these days minus trouse stuff is either wayyyy over produced and has epic lord of the rings type violin and piano breakdowns or its all that new team 140 harder psy style
i have pretty much switched over the the more prog side of things
(airwave,joof,relaunch,timewave,gai barone,basil o glue etc etc) |
there's still a ton of great trance coming out man. i never was the uplifting trance kind of guy but i'd be lying if i said there weren't great (new) uplifting songs that i really enjoy the out of right now. here's two of them:
and don't even get me started on how much great "progressive" trance is coming out and not even getting noticed atm because of all the flavor of the month marketing push for "uplifting" and "pure" trance right now.
take for instance this track, something i could definitely hear armin playing in a longer live set if he were still playing sets like he did around the time he did the mccarren park pool parties:
no degga degga bassline so people looking for uplifting will write it off. it has some strong snares and risers in there, so people who love to play the "trouse" card will write it off. but in my honest opinion, this track is a great example of quality progressive trance that has an awesome blend of emotional melodies and a nice groove
, there's even awesome progressive vocal trance making its way out and not even getting attention:
people are just too anal, become biased because of one bad egg (like an orjan nilsen electro-ish track) and then assume there's no good trance at 128-132 bpm. in reality, there are plenty of artists true to a trance sound across the style spectrum that just don't get any respect because people are too busy bickering over stupid like bpm, bassline patterns, and whether or not a snare roll is trouse.
glad i came across this post as it gave me something to do killing time before class. /end rant :D |

Probably just as much as the online tix. In total it was 40 so the door tix might be the same. But if you want take a chance, cuz i buy my tix just to be sure. |

If it's anything like the last Pure its gonna be like this:
Orkidea 10-12 - Solarstone 12-2 - Morph 2-4
so make sure to get there early to catch Orkidea's set because it will be the best set of the night.. No offense to the other two guys, I'm just biased. |
