thats what they always say. because lets be honest, trying to put out false information is only deterrent they have. tickets can be changed through wantickets. and you can probably show up with a copy of the id of the person who bought the tickets and that should work too.

and are the people working that night really going to care? are they really going to check the names of every single ticket? doubtful.

and on top of all of that, these are print at home tickets. why not just use your photoshop friend and put your name on the ticket? the people working really arent going to check the paper, then check what the scan says. its just way too much work to do it for all 4000 people.

so yea, scalpers win again.

All tickets have your name and are going to be scanned to verify the correct name comes up and matches the purchasers name on the ticket and id. You can believe they aren't going to mess this up because it will look bad on them in the end.

good intentions are all fine and dandy, im just saying i think its going to be an overwhelming amount of clusterness all around.

How many tickets were sold? I have a feeling a huge portion of these were scooped up by scalpers so there will be some extra room now that resale won't be an option for them. Kind of sucks, would have loved to make it for this but I'm not really bothered by it now.

I agree, but the burden is on whoever is promoting this. The whole free Deadmau5 concert will be a huge boost to them if they pull if off without any problems. If there happens to be some major issues than they can forget about it.

I still don't understand how Miami promoters don't realize issues like scalping and such. I'm not in the business but it seems like scalping was something that should have been addressed before the tickets even went on sale. Now X amount of people who actually wanted to go will not be able to because scalpers gobbled up tickets to resell.

Scalping was brought up. Tickets were limited to 2 per person. It's just very difficult to stop.

Yeah that helped some, but I think announcing the policy beforehand would have prevented a lot of scalpers. Then again it might not have, after all it was a low risk/high reward opportunity.

BTW I'm not attacking you, if anything your one of the only promoters/dj's I trust on this forum. You chime in about events way more than the people that are actually involved in said events. :toocool:

didn't think you were attacking me at all. Just sticking up for my friends since I know they are working hard to make sure this runs smoothly and are doing everything in their power to get things sorted properly. The funny thing is this is all listed when you buy the tickets on wantickets but we are in an age when people don't pay attention. I just wonder how many 18 years bought tickets to this show and didn't even realize it was 21+

The Dark NINJA
yeah no attacking, its bady,

Yea, I just received an email:

"Ice Palace does not accept tickets purchased from Stubhub or any other third-party vendor. When arriving at this event you must show photo id that matches the name on your tickets. We cannot approve any name changes if you have sold your tickets."

Also, I was limited to only buying two.

I was at work (and I work on a computer), so it wasn't a big deal to me. I refreshed the screen at 2 and I got on.

I doubt I'll even go (OK, maayyybbbbeeeee), but it was nice to donate to charity.

Good deed for the day done.
