Who would you like to see booked at output or elsewhere? Post your Wishlist.
What are your guys and gals thoughts on Real Trance and Progressive ever happening at Output? Pipedream? Are they Trance-racists?
Moombathon and pop dubstep get the nod, but not actual Underground Trance and Progressive. Do they see the nyc trance market as over saturated?
I know they have Trance.Here.Now at Cielo now, but I was pretty unimpressed and disappointed with Oakey, and I did not see super8 tab. Oakey, IMHO, was poppy dubby edm trance, and hes the man who got me hooked in 99-01.
Just imagine J00F vs CL and or Askew at Output. Even if only once or twice a year on a thursday or sunday. The darker and more experienced DJs would absolutely love the atmosphere, crowd and sound. |

I missed Adam X, Speedy J, and Robert Hood. So all of them again out of selfishnes and for badass-ness reasons.
Would also like to see Hobo and Matador there. Halloween venue BLEW.
More Live sets in general.
Joop Junior and Joran van Pol, some great young talent.
Dusky as well. |

It just doesn't sell very well. I dunno about New York but here in MIami its a bust. The only trance we get is that edm trouse . Pretty depressing, though on the flip side I've opened my eyes to deep house and techno. I'm a convert. Oakey didn't convince me with that Trancemission BS when he came down thus the reason I skipped event and after hearing about it, I'm glad I did.
Don't get me wrong, I would love to see like Markus do a marathon set there but it won't happen. The "Trance" artists that would pack the place are unfortunately not trance at all.

Im referencing my 1 year anniversary post card/cheat sheet as to who has already played. (not that it matters-bring em back!!!)

i don't think output is trance racist i just don't think 99% of trance would work there. i don't go up to output to put my hands in the air and hear in and out of love lol.
askew, maybe j00f or simon patterson, i guess markus (on a good night) could be heavy hitting enough to really spank those speakers.
i'm assuming these are DJs that HAVEN'T played there yet? if so, on top of mine would be:
ricardo villalobos (anywhere in america, at this point..)
KiNK (live)
trentemoller (live)
royksopp (live)
guy gerber (live)
sven vath (not complaining, happy we're getting him in NYC period)

Great ing list!! Dave Clarke and Christian smith would demo the place. Mauro picotto lives in NJ now right? Why the hell haven't they booked him.
Yeah completely agree with the statement - i don't go there to put my hands up - I would be bummed if they started booking trance DJs who can't flip through genres like Patterson, J00F and askew. Call me a hater but more than half of the trance DJs out there are literally bad DJs, in the sense of tastefully mixing different music. |
