My monitors are in the upper center of my room, no walls or side walls new and on 400 speaker stands with isotechs. L4C shut the up, everyone has been saying how good my mix downs are in the wipthread incase you haven't noticed. I sell things i that take up space and don't need idiot. the thing is that to get on beatport, you would have to be average , and you aint even there. I just doubt yuou are able to hear the things you claim to hear. And you keep changing things that do more or less the same thing. kinda like raphia but somehow you do it in such a messed up way, I mean you still haven't done treatment and you are talking about hearing . You aren't hearing . |

He didn't win at all. Sound quality actually increases with the right setup.
Some people got the ears to notice it, some do not. That's where the jealousy arises. For this reason people like L4C or RANN will always be mad at you. They just can't accept being inferior on that aspect. |

You can be such a turd sometimes. I've never been mean to Juan (and I believe he knows that), and what you're doing as your usual trolling bull is giving him the false impression that upgrading his computer will somehow make a difference in audio quality. |

Of course I'm trolling Mr. RANN, but why do you always ruin the party. :tongue2
I hoped at least L4C would bite, but he's so composed lately. I guess we need his majesty Mr. Raphie (aka the best audio engineer) to see him revived. |

Because it's not like this place needs more trolling, does it?
But yes, Richie has been very composed lately. I'm sure it won't last though ;) |

Can I just pay for some quality drivers?
I think every audio controller I've used has been a pain in the ass because of drivers. The only time I end up liking them is when I switch to monitor mode and go direct.
The DAW software probably effs it up too, so blame to go around.
So I actually contribute: USB 2.0 should be fine, not much difference between $200-500 range, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution. It's based on what you're doing (recording from a mic, just using VSTs, playback for mastering, etc.).
I hear a lot of good reviews for the RME Babyface, but I suspect playback is not much different than some less expensive units. Unless you're recording actual audio input, I don't think it will matter too much. I'm certain your speakers will be much more important.
Another question worth asking: does your listening audience care? I've heard some really good music recorded with some -ass equipment.
I'm in the market, by the way, but more for something that has quality software drivers. Not sure if I want to use Win7 or OSX, just looking for something that fits my needs: low throughput latency, multiple stereo IOs for live monitoring, and coax digital would be nice (as long as sample rates are consistent). |

RME Babyface is an amazing unit - I've heard nothing but positive reviews about - although it offers good features, it is a little pricey.
If you're looking for more affordable interfaces, along with RME, any of the Apogee units are going to have rock solid, hassle free drivers with super low latency.
I have a Echo AudioFire4 and it's been amazing. Occasionally (I mean a couple of times a year) I'll get silence when I've left the mac for a long while, it goes to sleep and upon waking my machine, I'll get silence from the interface, but all I have to do is open the audiofire mixer and it resets = fixed. It has been great - it's only downside for you is that it's FW.
The Steinberg interfaces seem pretty well received but I have heard of a few people having random problems. Stay away from tascam, focusrite, M-audio etc if drivers are a big concern. |
