Saw this on Rob Papen's FB page yesterday. If you own any RP plugins, log into your account, go to My Products, and click on the "Get Deal" link and they'll give you their new RP-Amod plugin (chorus/phaser/flanger/ensemble/etc.) for free.

Thanks dude, funny I got nothing from RP about this...

So how does this measure up to other plugins like it, specifically Ubermod?

I don't think they sent any sort of notification out. I just happened to see it on their FB page when I was looking for an ETA for Blue 2. Only had a short moment to play with this, but it's pretty cool and having two separate mod slots with the different routings makes its pretty versatile. I hope they release an AAX version for PC (AAX is Mac-only right now).

So what's the consensus on this thing? Better than Ubermod? Any equivalent plugin to it?

Not better than Ubermod IMO, but different and, obviously, free-erer. I think Ubermod has far more usable range. OTOH, AMod has the two route-able FX slots. I think the Uhbiks are probably the closest in terms of sound, or maybe some of the Audio Damage mod plugins. The ensemble on AMod sounds pretty fantastic to me, especially on a mono vocal track. I'll definitely get some use out of it.
