| I was there on Friday night... the sound was actually impressive and the venue is a good size. |

I know of someone who will likely find them insufficient. |

But seriously Skudge and Shed are two of the most exciting things to happen in techno in the last few years and I'd say this is a rare opportunity to catch them in Toronto/Canada so well worth checking out if you're into techno.

Meh, better than having it sit empty for another couple decades until it collapses from neglect. A 10-storey techno megaclub instead would be kinda cool though. ;) |

| Why do the DJ Harvey and Cosmin TRG/Efdemin nights have to be on the same weekend as DJ Tennis at Coda? :( |

"IMPORTANT UPDATE // CHANGE OF VENUE
First, we’d like to thank everyone for being so supportive of the Foundry Music & Arts series, we have received so much positive local and global attention. Foundry has already played a small, yet important part in putting our city on the world culture map.
Unfortunately, we have some sad news to share today.
After months of working with the various City Authorities and despite repeated reassurances that there was a straightforward solution, a technicality in the zoning by-laws has denied us the necessary permit to issue a legal occupancy at the last minute. Please know that we’ve explored every possible avenue, fought very hard and had many late nights trying to find a way to keep the series at the Tower Automotive Building.
We, more than anyone, understand how incredibly excited everyone was to be able to experience the incredible line-up of forward-thinking artists at such a unique venue.
Fortunately, 99 Sudbury, a space that we’ve been able to host numerous successful arts and music events before - and has played an historic role in our city's dance music culture - has made sure that Foundry still has a home this year.
All tickets that have been purchased to the shows will be honored at the door.
Despite the change of the venue, the concept of Foundry will remain the same. We are proud to have assembled one of the most innovative music line-ups the city has seen in recent memory, and there will still be immersive art installations that incorporate technology to make each night a unique experience.
We hope that one day in the near future, we will be allowed to take greater creative risks in a city that we love so much. For now, we hope that everyone will still support our cause by making this year’s Foundry one of the best dance series yet, and in the meantime move the city one step forward in the right direction for music lovers." |
