i won't ever bother with any heavy techno/dance.here.now parties anymore. the benny soto/rob fernandez crowd singlehandedly ruin nyc club culture.
aside from the dance circles taking up room in already crowded clubs, they legit try to fight you if walk by, nevermind try to break it off. it's as if they believe they are privileged to dance without shirts on top of each other while midget cholas yell WEPA and ORALE.
they LOVE the heavy techno, which is unfortunate. beyer/nicole next month are going to be unbelievable shows. it disgusts me - i'm not saying you have to be a gentleman at a nightclub, it's given that people will bump into you, it'll be sweaty etc. but these people are the complete opposite - rude, looking for trouble, uneducated (in both the music and in life). everything that's opposite of what going out to a club should be like.
shame, really.

Wow, didn't realize it was this bad. I dunno how receptive promoters are but maybe start a petition letting them know that you guys aren't happy with the "crowd" being pulled in. At least if you start causing here in Miami most bouncers love nothing better than throwing your ass out after paying.

I wish we could, I think dance.circle.here.now has contracts with some DJs such as Danny tenaglia and Chris Liebing as like exclusive promotion in NY. I'm going to hand write a letter to Schwartz and Matar and slip it under the door at output. I wish we knew someone with some authority or something.
Also, that crowd comes as a horde so massive security is unable to even do their job.

i do have to admit upstairs, mostly along that strip where there is all those seat nooks.....was a shady punk crowd for sure.......I actually thought to myself wtf are they doing here!!!
I cant even figure how guido are involved in techno now

We had a great time and I thought Chris played amazing.
Always a treat to watch him at work - so focused and locked in.
Loved when he dropped Dettman's Bad Kingdom remix.

Yes, that song can take the place into a whole other realm...
but for me. this one takes the cake AGAIN. heard it for the first time back in December. He teased us twice i think, then finally played it at like 5:30?

oh i wish i was there to hear that one.
i agree with everything that being said.
but theres no way i would pass on a chris liebing party due to the crowd. i'd do my best to focus on the music and stay with friends and avoid the wepa's much as possible.

the begining of last night was epic tho, up till about 11ish the crowd was perfect. so many familar faces
later on it got a lil packed but i didnt really have a problem. sorry to hear about everyone
minus the d-bag crowd output and liebing go hand and hand
love that party

kinda suprised about all the descriptions of the crowd, considering the 12/15 event didn't rate anything like that.
needless to say, I wasn't there
argh, :(
couple questions:
don't most of the d.h.n. parties actually happen at Cielo, not Pacha?
And in general, that crowd there, while it might not be the best, isn't the worst either, least not what I've seen of it at C...
Be that as it may: there is really two issues here:
a) why are there so few non-wepa, yolo, guido, etc real techno fans, so that they alone manage to snap up all the avail. tickets, and so, keep the crowd from being this crappy mix?
There weren't even 200 pre-sales for this on RA, compare that to other popular rammed events at Output.
Rhetorical question, sure, but...
b) I keep bringing this up:
club etiquette.
you can't easily control that from the door / door policy, cause looks don't necessarily equal conduct.
maybe this can work, with a seasoned door team and all, but it's not what's needed.
If anyone really wants to complain, then not about:
who let them in,
but
why let them act this way.
If clubs were policing this crap behavior better, and esp. if it was known that they have an open ear to in-real-time complaints, you could just finger the s, and outside they'd be pronto.
As one commenter said about the showing up in packs, any club security worth its salt should hardly be intimidated by that, let alone prevented from doing its job.
So, the only thing Output bigwigs should do, is enforce a little club etiquette.
no need to listen to me, there was a nice thread on RA not that long ago, so at least the basics are pretty universal.
Universally disregarded it seems, but well known nevertheless.

the only reason they are there is because they buy alcohol. i dont think the club is concerned whether someone spills a drink on you or takes shirts off and starts a wepa chant.
its sad but true.

This all seems weird to me.. I was on the dancefloor the whole time and never, even once, had a problem with people.. Whoever bumped when passing by said sorry or some other apologetic gesture. Dancefloor never felt over crowded..
I went upstairs a few times to use the restrooms and, indeed, it was a naked show, but when I went through the middle of their circles nobody stopped me or even said a word.
Needless to say I had another awesome night at output.

If Story in Miami can do it so can Output. I once saw a guy messing with someone there and was promptly snatched up and thrown out. LIke Cars said hire some bouncers with a back bone.
