Two different takes on this:
1)
Grandmaster Flash
Frankie Knuckles
Derrick May
Not sure of this spot..... PVD? idk
2)
Carl Cox
John Digweed
Richie Hawtin
DT or Vath
I'll get killed for this, but I can't help but feel Armin belongs on some type of list like this based simply on influence within a genre. Or considerations to Tiesto/Oakey because of their role, for better or worse, in creating the "superstar" dj.... Or maybe I'm just trying too hard to recognize the genre I used to love, lol.
An electronic music mt Rushmore would be a cool topic, too, with people like Jean Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk, Daft Punk, etc. |

| realistically speaking, we'd need one for every genre. |

Ditto on this, except replace Carl Cox with Sasha (and I'd have to add Lawler) |

your 100% right about that.... like a dj mt rushmore with out a hip hop dj or superstar dj would be retarded... but this is all in good fun right
GrandMaster Flash
Frankie Knuckles
John Digweed/Cox
Oakie/Tiesto/PVD/Armin
we could get technical and started pulling out names like Juan Atkins and Giorgio Mordoer but lets not? lol
i think Armand van Helden should be mentioned |

This is impossible to do, there are way too many influential people/djs..
If i was forced to pick for me it would be:
Ricardo Villalobos
Liam Howlett
David Mancuso
DJ Alfredo
I feel like these 4 people shaped our music overall to what it is today, even if some of them are not extremely famous. If i had more than 4 obviously Sasha, Digweed, Laurent Garnier, Sven Vath and others would be included. |

I was thinking about it but those guys never DJ so kinda irrelevant..
If the doors were open to anyone involved in electronic music then I wouldn't know where to begin. |
|
|
| Big Boss |
| David Mancuso is heavy duty. |
|
|
| AY STAR |
i would have said tiesto pre 2008 as well
but he hassent been anything worthy since then
oakey is very hit or miss these days, back in the day tho he was def a legend
pvd i agree is probly the only one who still can up
solid list of dj's guys |
