2014.02.29 [LA] Danny Teneglia at Exchange LA (pg. 2)

The combination of Dubfire with Green Velvet was one of the best nights at Exchange IMO! Dubfire appealed to the House crowd and then Green Velvet just killed it starting at 2am. The Techno crowd was there in full force and the dance floor was pretty packed all the way until the end of Curtis' (GV) set. When you play the track "cameras ready, prepare to flash," can't really tell people to put them away tho! (He didnt, just a bit of sarcasm there). :stongue:

I only go for the techno nights and always have a blast. I think the weather had something to do with the thin crowd. You never even go to exchange billy so your opinion isn't valid.:stongue:

Dubfire nights, Beyer, digweed, maceo plex, all have been packed.

I was at Avalon for zabs and chris liebing and it was empty and no better.

The staff and service at exchange is far better than Avalon. This months lineup is pretty Damn good too

Teneglia stopped at 4am. He definitely was not feeling the camera phones in his face all night. Anybody see the douches with the table on the floor throwing 1$ all over the dance floor then giving g each other high fives????

That was priceless.

packed is one thing. Vibe is another. I just never got into partying at Exchange as I did at Avalon.

Now STFU rookie

danny really doesnt come to la often. hes really a nyc and east coast guy, he knows that scene and that area knows him very well, and has for a long time. la is obv very different to him especially somewhere like exchange. since it was his second time playing there and hell, his first trip to la in a few years probably. i dont think he knew what he was getting himself into. ya the crowds in la spec that main clubs in la arent going to have the vibes and dt enthusiasts compared to nyc. exchange does a good job on booking solid talent, especial on saturdays. the problem is, a good chunk of exchange attendees dont know or care whos playing when they go. they just go to go there for a Saturday night out, dance, and drink. that why after last call it really starts to thin out and by 3 its usually half full no matter the dj. cities like nyc and miami, sometimes he wouldnt even get on until 2 or 3. if dt wants a better la experience, he needs to get with the right promoters over here and play a smaller gig because his following isnt near as big or crazy about him.

yea, i think this is spot on. i've never seen DT and would love to see him sometime, but i didn't want this to be the first time because i knew it was going to be no good at exchange, especially with a guy like DT who isn't as popular as he once was.

It wasn't Danny's first time at Exchange and he also played at Nocturnal Wonderland, Coachella and EDC before. So I'm pretty sure he knew what he was getting into.

last time he was at exchange was sep.2012
nocturnal 2012
coachella 08
edc vegas 2012

not very recent or in tact with the so cal crowds. either way the place to see him is in nyc or miami

he's played twice at Avalon and both sets were ing AWESOME!! Both sets went past 8AM. before that, he played at the Mayan (circa mid 2000's) and had an awful experience. It wasn't the crowd but the club itself. He was scheduled to play till whenever but the club wanted to close down since they weren't making any money. Danny was pretty pissed off. Folks had even said that he got on the mic and said "I will never play at this club again!". All urban myth though.

It doesn't matter, he's a touring DJ and plays at venues he's never played at before. He should be used to the different type of crowds by now. Like Billy said, his sets at Avalon were awesome. I was there.
