| I feel like I always see djs book events in new york. And now with FSOE 350 in nyc this year, I just have to ask, how is the trance scene there? It seems much more active than where I live. Well, obviously there are going to be a lot of bookings in nyc.....it's nyc, lol. But, just some thing I have been wondering. |

agree with that.
when a quality Dj is in town (so obviously not talking about ASOT or his upcoming Garden gig, and excepting PvD from the below) they get a couple of hundred who are interested attending, with the places having that capacity to match.
Esscala does a good job, compare the places they book for example.
so overall, really a sad statement when you consider its an 8 mil city, and prob a 15 mil metro area... |

| IMO it's an over saturation of bookings. Not an over saturation of trance , but if a trance fan also really likes to listen to tech and house, there's like 3-5 amazing parties every Friday and Saturday. Some of the trance fans are strictly trance and have yet to discover the other parties, or they just don't like the other sounds for some reason. But yeah like cars said, considering the population and density the scene should be a lot stronger. I know I know it's growing, but the techno and "EDM" parties take the cake. It's unfortunate almost a half of a generation (21-28 y/o) are victim to poppy crap music, and whack hip hop club environments. Unfortunate all the clubs got shut down in 01-02 or whatever. I'm 25 and only hear stories from people in their 30s+ about the golden age. I guess were in the Bronze Age or some right now. The revival is good non-the-less. End rant. |

| Compared to Miami they have a ing buffet up there in NY. I usually see different artists booked there in 3 months than you would see in Miami in the 4 years I've lived here. Like a few have said I think the events are a bit weak attendance wise because they also have such tremendous bookings in other musical genres at the same time. |

i find poppy crap top 40 lounges and whack hiphop clubs to have more sluts who turn out than those events at lebain, provoc, anything MPD or high brow 'EDM' parties
it's true, that the golden age of nyc clubbing is dead there's too much attention around this city. Most of the best clubs were all situated on dead blocks, meaning city blocks so far removed from anything that it was simply a ghost town when you left the club. it's not like that anymore |
