Rebel Rave, not a bad opening party...

Fans, Friends and Family! After over a decade of being nomadic event producers, the Verboten team is happy to announce the grand opening of our long-awaited new home for underground music and art! The venue is a 10,000 square foot former metal shop in Williamsburg, featuring two rooms, industrial design, a sprung wood dance floor, and a massive Martin Audio sound system.

This Friday, 3.14 we welcome Crosstown Rebels' infamous Rebel Rave party, featuring Damian Lazarus, Francesca Lombardo, Fur Coat, Ida Engberg and Verboten residents Pattern Drama as they take over Verboten.

I'm curious.
diabloargentino
tempted but can't pass up diggers.
CarS
yeah, if it wasn't for diggers....

am curious to see if Verboten keeps their long-standing policy of allowing reentry now that they have their own bricks-and-mortar.
sure hope so, but kinda not holding my breath.

or their many nice and late closing times, like 8AM

if they do, we need to petition Output for some sort of back and forth thing (lol)

plus a sprung dance floor, when did the city last have one of those?
very nice touch!
if that sprung floor comes in various sections, hope they add the dance-circle-eject-o-matic: press one button, and poof, circle gone.

This is nice. I am excited for Verboten

from RA:

The programming is largely in line with Verboten's established techno and house ethos, with a more open-ended streak that includes special events like burlesque shows as well as art exhibits and fitness classes, all in the "spirit of Brooklyn" according to the team behind the venue. Carl Craig, Matthew Dear, Davide Squillace, Ida Engberg, Matt Tolfrey and Lee Curtiss will all hold residencies at the club, while Bespoke Music, Trouble & Bass and Push The Night with have their own regularly occurring nights (plus the more indie-oriented Zeitgeist parties).

Guests for the rest of March include Gui Boratto, Magda, Bill Patrick, Matt Tolfrey, Cut Copy, Jamie xx, John Talabot and others, with names like Josh Wink and Speedy J promised for later in the year.

Smart of them to make use of the place during the week.

looks like a really cool venue , but kinda pricey now. esp since Im going to beyer on saturday, although it would be cool seeing her the night before.

25-30 +fees seems about right for most of the parties thats currently happening.

i suspect ida engberg to play more tech/deep house sounds since she is just about to release her latest ep on crosstown rebels. should be a different night of music compared to adam beyer/drumcode sound.

Hey CarS I can confirm that re-entry will not be allowed, but I believe that there will be exceptions for special circumstances (forgot medication in car etc..) The reason is mostly for re-processing, and in the interest of keeping any wait in line to a minimum. We hope you understand!
FLIGHTSPEED
lol define medication.

anyway yeah prob worth it. I'm sure. I might go. Like Sasha way more than Digweed so i will just hold out for that at output. Checked out Ida's new track she posted on Facebook for the crosstown label and it sounds a little more like techno to me.

Sure you know better than me though what she will play. I have not been following her at all...
