As most of the world knows our Mayor of Toronto was caught smoking crack and has done all sorts out of outrageous things in the media. He has blown up in the media and has become something of a sensation.
Well what a lot of you people don't know is where this man is from. He is from a neighbourhood in Toronto called Etobicoke. The same neighbourhood I was born and raised in. Etobicoke, socially, is a funny place. You have some of the poorest areas in Toronto mixed with some of the most rich and privileged. These two different classes grow up with eachother. What you get is the Rich and priveleged want to prove they are just as tough and bad as the poor kids. However the rich kids have cash to cause a lot of damage. I have seen a lot of people get charged, a lot shot and alot get shot. I have seen the rich and priveleged call in favors and get off of serious crimes. I have seen poor kids without the same connections take the fall for everyone.
I have known about the Rob Ford family my whole life as they lived a few blocks away from me. The family as mental. The sister was shot in the face from her boyfriend. The older brother is soo bad they hide him from the media.
Now I knew about Rob Ford before the media ever caught wind. I knew he hung out at the cleaners at richview plaza where they sell coke out of. I knew his older brother always tried to sell me bottles of wine at 7/11 he stole from his mother for money for crack. SO when this whole Rob Ford thing came out I was not surprised.
But I am calling it now. This guy is involved with a lot more than just doing some hard drugs and drinking on his off time. I know my neighborhood and I know how things work. Rob Ford is a priveleged Royal York boy and he is definitely putting money into the streets.
Today I was reading some of the investigation reports the police released and it just painst my picture so much clearer.

this is a 700 page report. this is just one lil blurb from it. If Rob Ford is dropping cash into the streets of my neighborhood I hope he rots in hell.
EDIT: some background information--> Sandro Lisi is a big time convicted drug dealer in my neighborhood. Still pushes like crazy.
has some awesome weed though! |

"n Canada, high-grade crack can be purchased on the street for about $130/gram, or as low as $80 for lower-grade drugs. In the United States, though, that number can soar to as high $600 per gram, according to the United Nations World Drug Report."
Why am I not selling crack? |

is it really that no one cares in TO, about Ford's transgressions, as the US media portrays it?
the US media always says that he has a lot of support among the working and middle class and cite that as the reason he's been elected and still hanging onto his job. sounds sort of Hugo Chavez-esque. |

Well he only got elected once and hes been stripped of his powers. He got into power because our municipal politicians all suck . Out of everyone we could pick, he was the best one...back then he was the best one. He was the only one who was addressing the issues the city faced. With the information given at the time he seemed like the best choice.
He still does have a lot of traction with lower class and uneducated in Toronto. He tends to make things up and twist all sorts of things into his favor. Eventhough everything he says gets debunked the next day.
He'll be arrested soon enough. I know my neighbourhood and i Know what hes involved with over here. The Toronto police know what he's involved with. It's just a matter of time. Everyone right now is kind of clearing the way while this building falls |

you already knew he smoked crack. Most crack dealers don't have permits. Why does this part anger you ? I mean were you totally fine until this bit about him being from some dealer you ing hate but carries good weed which suggests you patron the same guy which is just confusing unless you are a 12 year old girl.
I'm not really sure what the take home point is. It seems the underlying message is that you roll with the fords or in their circle which is something i wouldn't admit. It kinda makes you look like , well in Quebec, they would say laval (Montreal) , or Jersey in NY.
I still can't believe he is mayor. It requires some degree of moral high ground. everyone that has been arrested for crack use not withstanding his resignation should be let free. |

I dont care if he smokes crack. Thats not my issue. Its the fact that hes trafficking drugs in my home neighborhood thats ed up.
This goes way deeper than what the popular media reports. this is why i posted that 1 scenario. Rob Ford is throwing money in the streets. As in investing in drug dealers. As in putting his clean money into the streets and getting back a dirty money profit. I dont know how else I can spell it out for you.
^^^ thats the issue. I couldnt give a if he did heroin at home (which by some of the police reports he does that too). I take it personally because I grew up here. I saw kids i grew up with go to jail, I grew up with some who shot other kids I knew, I've seen kids i knew murdered, I have seen kids get mixed up in the wrong crowds due to the accessibility of drugs in this neighborhood all coming from normal good families. and if I find out these kids went through all sorts of and dirty politcians were funding it (our own government)...well I want to see those top guys behind bars as well. (but what ive learned from living here is that if you got $$$ you got a get out of jail free card) |

shouldn't it apply to the entire city ? I mean your hood surely isn't that special. It does kinda make his claim of saving money a farce when you take into account the cost of policing the illicit drug trade. And the medical costs of being a fat . |
