Warez is a no no on here.

But i dont think it can be done :s

Best way is using network cables and a hub, the normal way :)

I have a USB cable modem also, however it also has the RJ45 port aswell as USB. RJ45 is the best way to do it as fly said. However you dont need a HUB when just connecting two PC's. But you do however need a CROSSOVER UTP CAT5 cable. Then get two network cards... and bobs your uncle fanny's your aunt.

Yep, sorry not used to just 2 pcs on a network, heh

My mate has got 4 comps with 100mbit network cards, and 100mbit cable into a hub :)

Mega fast :)

the software will most likely come free with the hardware. These things only cost like £15 :)

the software for networking (which is by far teh best way to go about conection 2 or more pc's together) comes built into nearly every operating system there is, if your using win xp it has a couple of wizards to help you get it all set up rite!

guys,

the thing is the laptop which has win 2k on it is my work machine and to do the networking via an rj45 dont i have to set the domains and stuff?

if i do this i then mess my work laptop domain logon settings!???

thanks.

hrm that could be a problem! i havnt done anything with usb networking but i do know you need some special usb cable. not an ordinary one.

another thing you could see if the laptop has a firewire port as you can pick up a pci firewire card for your pc quite cheeply and from what ive read firewire networks are easy to set up and mega fast (4oo mb/s fast!)

what i think i will do is buy a usb cable for £30, will this solve my problems, I understand I dont have to tweak the network settings etc...
