Hailing from Egypt, Karim got interested in the electronic music scene back in 2000 when Cairo 1st started attracting some of the best trance and progressive house DJs and parties back then. His interest in electronic music increased and he started to experiment with composing progressive house, in 2007 Karim had his 1st release on the reputable UK label plastic fantastic under the guise “Kicksy & Alif groove” followed by a 2nd release in 2009 on polytechnic records. His track “Tongue Tied” was charted by Nick Warren in his Xmas 2009 charts.
In 2010 Karim became a resident in Cairo’s newest and soon to become Cairo’s best party “Nacelle” which attracted over the past years some of the best & upcoming Djs in the globe including (Daniel Bortz, Adriatique, Hot since 82 Francesca Lombardo, Slow hands and chopsick & jon jon to name a few) his deep, heartfelt and melody rich sets at nacelle opened the eyes of many of Cairo’s clubbers to the deeper sounds of EDM. Karim’s sets have a lot of influence from his earlier interest in the Trance and progressive house which blended with his love for deeper and more experimental sound to form a sound that fresh yet nostalgic .
After moving to Washington DC in 2012, Karim met with Yacine to form indecent exposure and they had their 1st release featuring Ashibah’s vocals on the famous Mexa records in March 2013. Following that the duo had several other releases on remixes on UK based label Debora as well as the Dutch label trick track records.
2013 saw Karim play in some of the best clubs and nights around the world, starting with playing at Ibiza’s infamous club Privilege in May with climbers followed by gigs in Monterrey’s Music and motor festival and Dubai’s award winning party “electric days” which won the time-out award for best alternative party in Dubai in 2013 and finally ending the year with at the amazing Nacelle end of the year boat party alongside Trickski from Suol.
