sorry for asking this but i have this slight feeling that slot loading players are more prone to scratch up your cds easily compared to slot loading. at the same time slot loading is safer to load cds compared to tray loading where the tray can easily snap off.

dont forget that with slot loading your more prone to get your cd's stuck in the player

trust me...i know from experience....ruined my new cd :(

i told my lil bro not to put it in there :( :(

I've got a Pioneer slot loading DVD/CD ROM on my computer and I've been using it for over a year, no complaints at all. It actually loads the CDs faster than typical tray style CD-Roms. No scratches either!

Slot loading you can get stuck CD's as Liquid said before.. and scratching on CD's can occur if they aren't of high quality. What my friends also notice on their CDj-100's and CDJ-1000's, is that somehow dirt/dust can easily affect the playing of slide in CD's because of the mechanism that slides them in.. i can't figure that one out though.. :D

Trays can break if you are a bit of a dumass, but i haven't really heard any cases of that happening. But slide-in is definately faster.

You might also notice that the CDJ-100's are fatser than your CDJ-1000's in loading and playing the cd. Thats because the 1000's have to analyse the BPM of the whole CD before starting play.
