Going to move out there later this year. Anyone have advice? I'm die hard San Diego and Southern California, but I need some change and figured since I love that city, why not move there?
I have a recruiter friend that can guarantee me a job because of my past experience, so that won't be that big of an issue. I also speak Spanish which I know helps, a lot.
But anyone on the West Coast from there? Just trying to get a little insight. |

| I lived in Brickell and South Beach for several years. It was fun for a while, but grew tiring. I suppose it depends on how much energy you have. You look to have a turbo, so you might be alright :) One thing for sure, there are a lot of rude and materialistic people down there. I eventually moved to West Palm and got along much better. Ft Lauderdale is a great city and a good balance of being close to Miami but not so in your face. |

I've also said if I would move to any city, it would be there. However, I can only practice law in California. So its not gonna happen.
Its disgustingly hot and humid June to September, so you may wanna hold off and not move this summer if possible. But I guess you will be stuck there around that time eventually. |

Yeah, I need to start getting used to the heat so I wanted to head out there around September.
As far as materialistic, it can't be worse then LA lol |

| Try to get a place in Miami beach as suppose to South Beach you can save some good money. I agree its my favorite place other than LA. There is just something magical about it. |

If you plan to live in South Beach, find a place in a building in south of fifth or west of west avenue.
I lived in the Flamingo building and had a great time there, great place to meet people and you are in walking distance from everything !
But it depends on your job location, if you find in Fort Lauderdale, you should find a place there. |

Why do you say that ?
Yes it's different from Cali but it's still a nice place to live, and yes I noticed that lot of people want to move to South Florida now and the place is booming with plenty of condo projects, time to buy real estate while it's still affordable ... |

Hot and swampy. I miss the thunderstorms, but nothing else weather wise. :)
Only thing that will bring me back (born/raised) is a damn good job. |
