Culprit Announces 5 Year Celebration with Label Showcases

Releasing Above The City Rooftop Rising: The Remixes Out April 7

It’s hard to believe that five years ago Culprit issued its first release, which marked the debut of now super-group Hot Natured. H.E.A.D.S. set the tone for the ensuing period, during which Culprit has championed left of center, futuristic and warm house, encapsulating the philosophy of Droog’s LA based label; absorbing global underground culture and refracting it through the lens of Los Angeles.

Over five years the likes of Benoit & Sergio, Seth Troxler, Lee Curtiss, Lee Foss, Soul Clap, Matt Tolfrey and Adultnapper have graced the label, a kindred collection of like-minded individuals who have shared magical moments in LA with Culprit founders Droog. While these names may leap off the page, Culprit has also steadfastly developed its own artists, many of whom sought out the label’s signature sound palate as a home base. Shall Ocin, Adriatique, Climbers, Subb-An and Justin Jay are all examples of those that have released highly impactful releases on Culprit in their nascent careers.

As a collective Culprit has also brought the ethos of their label to parties around the world, anchored by the Culprit Sessions events perched amid the skyscrapers in Downtown Los Angeles. Whether it’s Detroit’s Movement, Mexico’s BPM, London’s fabric, Berlin’s Watergate, Ibiza’s Space, Barcelona’s Sonar, the desert’s Coachella, or their new home at Sound in LA, Culprit’s parties have always focused on providing a platform for their artists, and delivering audiences the very best in contemporary underground dance music.

To mark the five year celebrations in 2014, Culprit will host showcases across the globe, while a series of special retrospective remixes will serve to highlight the Culprit catalog. In addition there will be a series of new original EPs, kicking off with Above The City Rooftop Rising: The Remixes on April 7.

and fack, already have the Troxler / BenUFO tix, what a great example of a date-clash where you just wish you could go back and forth between the venues.
About as much effort for this one, than going between Panther and Main room at Output.
Why can't these guys come up with an agreement?
