| if i had a pioneer600 mixer would it be worth buying one of those pioneer fx500 boxes or does the mixer have all the same fx capabilities as the fx500??? |

| waste of money. I'm pretty sure all the effects on the 600 are on the fx-500 |

THe EFX has several worthwhile effects which are not on the 600. The EFX also has the ability to isolate certain bands of sound much better than the 600, plus the ergonomics of the unit allow much more skillful manipulation of the effects, plus applying more than one effect simultaneously. Let's face it, for fast & furious effects caning, the 500/600 are dogs. The buttons & knobs are just too fiddly. Head over to Pioneer's website & have a look at the EFX unit, or better yet, play with one in person.

| I was just reading up on that EFX and one of the effects is an auto BPM shift? the tap button feature. "You can set BPM instantly by tapping the button with your finger. Press the button twice to input the tempo as desired." meaning it will auto tune the track for you to match the bpm? I hope im reading that wrong. |

| I would personally just prefer the rather meaty DJM-600s :D |

That doesn't sound right. How can you change the pitch of a deck by tapping a button. Maybe it works for cdj's through the remote link. But the way the tap button works is simply you tap it to the beat and you get an approximate reading to the nearest .1 of the BPM |

If you have the DJM600, it's not worth it to buy the EFX in my opinion. Most effects will already be on the mixer, and the couple of effects the EFX has extra isn't worth it.
Then again, I much prefer the Kaoss pad II over the EFX. I find it better sounding, and more verstatile... |
