Mix Junky!!
Hey guys. Just finished my second track ever and about to dive into the mixdown stage. Reading a lot of steps and tips online on where to start and I can already tell it's going to be a long grooling process. Just wondering how you guys go about it and if you have any early tips for me to help. Thanks in advance :)

Those articles above are really useful, thanks.

Personally, it always gets to a point in my project where i'll drop every single fader and mix copletely from scratch. Naturally, you mix a little as you produce but when you start adding a lot of different elements, everything tends to get a little muddy, especially in the mid-range. Voxengo SPAN is your friend, I like the waves paz analyser too to constantly check my RMS and aim for between -10 and -5db.

Mixing is an art unto itself, the thing I struggle with the most is getting my final mixes/ masters to be big, loud and sound club ready...guess thats why mastering engineers make a lot of money for their services.

Run a few tracks you're kind aiming for through the voxengo span and look at what levels, frequencies are being hit and aim for similar.
