'are you HONgray...for some PANcakes!'
Yeah so did I till I heard the Satoshi Tomiie Remix.. still has the vocals but someone makes them not as bad. |

Hey, no dissin Elvis while I'm around! ;)
Hmmm all i like from Lieb this year is the starry eyed surprise remix, nothing else has really caught my interest.
I must agree that Tiesto is slipping, although I still have faith in the guy. |

except for some remixes which kinda sound uninspired
no where near as gay as tiesto and his ing hungry hippo song |

tiesto has been struggling but the last classic thing armin did was Boundaries of Imagination...dunno why there are so many fanboys...playing the newest songs doesnt make those new songs amazing

Tiesto without a doubt...he started out the year fairly strong but his remixes lately are terrible IMO. While he has produced a few good things this year (such as ISOS3) he's been slacking off and not living up to what's expected of him.
Yet another example of a producer swayed by the dollar sign...his remix of Moby's "Extreme Ways" is one of the worst remixes I've ever heard. |
yup |

Flip: Cosmic Gate
Lots of good banging remixes as well as good new choons,
Examples "Raging" and (my favourite) "Milky way"
Remix: Crap track by 4 Strings into a class track - "Diving"
Flop: Green Court
Remixing DJ Sammy? WTF, That Silent Heart track was a load of crap too. IMO Green Court should stay away from the vocal trance and go back to the harder sounds they used to produce.
Examples: DJ Sammy - blah |

Tiesto was good, some people just dont understand deeper music. And the remixes oliver lieb made, were also very nice. The Djs athat really sucked this year are
Flop
Gielen - Cheesy as ever, but now that wanker is playing lots of hardstyle, Im not even going to start on his ty productions
Blank & Jones - The fact that guys cannot DJ for as was proven by their 2 horrible TE sets. Their latest productions have been quite cheesy in my opinion.
DJ Jean - like usual, no explanation needed
Dana, Technoboy, Luna and all the other Hardtsyle DJs :whip:
Flip
Paul Oakenfold - The man is back! He did a great album and his regular radio 538 sets are always top notch
Sasha - This guys is just doing really good now. His album proved that he is a talented producer and his mixing skill are still one of the best in the world
James Holden - He just produces and remixes hit after hit, he might be technically weak but his sets are very enjoyable
Armin - No explanation needed :p |

Paul Oakenfold's Bunkka was a total letdown, I mean so much anticipation and so much letdown but Oakenfold was probably aiming for something different than his usual.
Amazingness
Steve Lawler's GU Lights Out Compilation was outstanding....deep dark and very dirty and very well done
Sasha's Airdrawndagger album was the album of 2002 and 7 yrs in the making, it turned out an amazing album of wicked tracks and just pure brillance.
Sander Kleinenberg did some very good remixes even tho his essential mix cd was a total letdown.....he made up for it this year.
SO SO years
Tiesto had a so so year, his ISOS 3 was a nice chill mix and his legendary Dutch Dimension 2002 set was amazing but he played some crap mixes and overplayed certain songs, started to wear retina burning shirts and forgot how to mix on certain times.
Paul Van Dyk had a so so year, he made some awful remixes but played very well at rosenmontags rave, mayday and lp.....so so year...but being a fan of pvd....i expect much better from him.
Let down or disgrace of the year goes to
Blank and Jones
Breakout of the year
James Holden
Nothing, assisting on Bloodlock....remix of janiero....amazing essential mix...amazing mix at screen 2002.....this guy gets better all the time and it's scary because it has not perfected his craft yet....only 22.
They made total garbage remixes, released some forgettable mixes and played the worst set ever at the Loveparade. |
