I wasn't born when it opened and I was 13 when it closed, but figured you old dinosaurs might be interested in this :D
Apparently 9 of the original residents/DJ's are confirmed (playing classics?) for the night. If this is true, I'd like to try and make it out...it would be fun to dance to some old tunes all night. |

Tom (Enigma T), my sister, and I went every weekend for years. Learned everything I know about the scene from that club, I went from 97 - close. One of the best clubs I have ever been too, second only too twilo. I remember seeing Scott Project there, first time in the states, when he dropped Thunder in Paradise, it was something out of a movie, place was chaos. John Viscous, held it down on the wheels of steel as a resident also. They should of had this party at the old Tunnel location. The dance floor is still an open space there, they have a few shops inside now.
Best memory was after a 1999 summer professional gymnastics competition that was held in nyc, a bunch of those guys came out to the Tunnel afterwards, and competed against a break dancing crew from the city. That was intense, some the the sickest break-dancing /capoeira moves I have ever witnessed.
Side note - Vin Diesel was a bouncer there |

There were two lines going into the club, the normal line and then the line for Kurfew. Kurwew was the gay section of the club. The music was always good there but they would only let you in if you were gay. Luckky for me tom plays a good gay dude and got me in , lol. The club was partitioned into many separate rooms. I always liked the jungle room upstairs near the bathroom. |

| Cool stuff. I'm way too young to have had the joy of experiencing nights like these, but this is something I'd definitely attend now; I always love hearing the sounds of underground clubbing history. |
