Stacey in pullen. W.t.f.! Best set all night and that includes clr party. That man just devastated the Detroit stage yesterday. Movement juiced up the production this year as well. Best event I've EVER been to and still have two days left. Anyone on the fence about this party -- don't be. Come next year and be amazed.

Review of DEMF weekend in Detroit:

Day 1: As stated earlier, Stacey Pullen was on another level than I've ever heard him. Incredible. CLR afterparty: Dettmann/Radioslave b2b was kinda weird to be honest. Didn't seem like CLR music to me. Had me dancing though. Liebing brought the heat though. The bad: club was oversold, totally packed, and hot. And the $6 waters in Detroit was just silly. Told the bartender that I want an ICE WATER not a bottle and he told me that he couldn't do it. I said it's illegal for him not to serve ice water and still wouldn't do it. Said fine, I'll take another 6 dollar Fiji and then he relented and poured me ice water. Lol.

Day 2: Adriatique was phenomenal, very electric danceable techy deep house. Impressed. Missed Buttrich :(. TMB was sick though for the hour I saw them. Went to mainstage for the trifecta of Carola/Diggers/Hawtin. Holy . Carola played his typical style but he def brought it. DIggers went into some dark banging techno -- no deep house at all. Loved it. And then Richie went into vintage Plastikman mode, especially for that last hour. This was even better than Pullen's set the night before. Best set by far, of the entire weekend, IMO. And the visuals... Nighttime: Interface party. Music was banging, dark techno as expected. Awesome. But the venue was a total hole and worse yet, it was at least 110 degrees in the mainroom. AC doesn't exist in some parts of the D I guess. Impossible to have fun given that situation. Left early. Biggest disappointment of the weekend. I see a bunch of glowing reviews for this and I can't figure out why...was definitely the hottest show I've ever been to.

Day 3: Heidi at Beatport was awesome as well as Larkin and Eddie Fowlkes at Detroit stage. Loco Dice and Carl Cox killed it in their typical fashion at Mainstage. Loco Dice blew out the bassbins halfway through his set, lol. Cox closing it out was just perfect. Vibe was incredible.

TL;DR version: Movement itself is everything you've heard and then some. Best festival in the U.S. Afterparties suck ass compared to what we have in Miami and other parts of the U.S. though. Hell, Orlando clubs are much, much better than what Detroit offers.

Nice review. I had the same experience at Interface two years ago. Not sure why but some of these techno guys pride themselves by playing in "sweat boxes". For all the negative things you spoke about in your review are the reasons I don't go back to DEMF. I'm a nighttime guy mainly so Miami is great for that. Also, BPM festival is the best thing going in North/Central America for my money, you should definitely try that.

One last thing... If you loved Adriatique.... Tale of Us, Dixon and Mano Le Tough would blow your mind. 😜

Sorry, had to

Glad you guys had a great time.

If I'm still in the States, I'll definitely be going next year.
