Mysteryland USA review

Wow wow wow!!! This festival was phenomenal! It's been 9 years since my last multi day camping rave (WEMF 05) and I am extremely critical when it comes to reviewing DJS, clubs or festivals and I honestly do not have one serious complaint about this. For it being th first time it's even been done here, it went off without a major hitch. The venue itself, bethel woods, was absolutely massive and gorgeous. Hard to put into words how big it really is. Got ther Friday at 1130am and we were all inside and set up by 130/2pm. Lines moved extremely fluent considering how long it could have taken to get everyone in. Security was polite and professional all weekend and honestly a joke. Yes they had drug dogs in lines outside coming in but once you got into the campground you were good. Sound and production all weekend was top notch, especially the sound. EVERYTHING was fairly priced. Didn't see or hear of one major incident of an OD or bs all weekend long. The campers and festival goers were some of The most respectful crowds I've ever had the pleasure of partying with. The cashless wristband scanning system was brilliant not having to wait for people to fumble with cash or credit. This festival by far lived up to and exceeded my expectations of it on all levels.

Few small areas of improvement:

1. More staff needed in campground in early morning hours. Food lines were definitely long and slow moving.

2. More showers needed in the campground. If you showered early in the morning you didn't wait long but after about 830am it was a long wait.

3. iPhone 5 chargers in lockers weren't working. Thankfully I still have a 4 so no issue there.

4. Scanner system crashed a few times but I again never had an issue all weekend using mine.

Other than that it was downright amazing and these areas of improvement are easily fixable. Already cannot wait until MYSTERYLAND 2015.

Sets of the event....top 5

Joseph capriati ---- holy mother of god :crazy:
Visionquest-- easily the most killer vibe I've ever experienced in that room
2000 and one
Pan pot
Calderone

Many others destroyed too, but those were on just completely different levels than the rest.

ID&T really did this event right and so happy a 3 year contract was signed for this location!!

I'm sorry but you lost me with 2000 and 1. Dude trainwrecked four times in 30 minutes, couldn't put a beat together, stood on the decks and flexed, flipped off the crowd, and went 10 minutes over his slot. I wanted the dudes from Pan Pot to drop kick that ****** off the stage.

Capriati-YES
Pete Tong-God Damn the Speigel tent was a gypsy carnival, but it was hot!
Lee Foss laying it down groovy on the vinyl
Olander and Fherplay playing progressive and techy stuff at 3PM
Gaiser-Smashing the bus with upbeat and minimal flair
Justin Martin dropping filthy ghetto bass house
Josh Wink bringing out old school rave tecnho vibes
Soul Clap disco and funk in the rain.

The showers sucked and the food was wayyy too expensive. I paid 15 birdy bucks ($16.66) for chicken nuggets dipped in General Tso's sauce
CarS
Moby's set, any feedback?

Watched him from a far. Started out with a lot of mainstream stuff but got a lot different/interesting as it progressed. Unfortunately I don't know the music enough to give anything more as far as genres and whatnot.

Pete tong was incredible! Spiegeltent went off all weekend but ya it was a sweat shop in there. Unfortunately missed josh wink. I paid $10 for a delicious souvlaki. I had no complaints w any food or drinks.

Superb festival. When you mix ID&T with Made Event especially on the original Woodstock Grounds, what move could you expect?

Hard to pick a favorite set, Capriati was murder so was Liebing, Gaiser and PanPot. Magic Crystal with Visionquest was just insane...

Two tracks of the weekend:

Josh Wink - Are You There (Ben Klock Remix)
Dark Beat (Danny Daze Remix)

Yes Tong was soo soo good

I had a great time too. Grounds & Music were awesome but I felt the fest was lacking a bit in the Culture & Arts section - perhaps had something to do with the on/off weather on Saturday, no big deal though.

Besides that minor detail, festival was great all around. Would love to see more Vinvl stages like that. Victor was on FIRE. Steve Bug & Jesse Rose were amazing too.

Also really enjoyed Kolsch & Capriati. Booka Shade was OK. Kept popping in and out of Visionquest but the boys were rocking every time I went in.

That's weird. Makes me wonder what happened to Tong at Movement. While he wasn't exactly bad, he wasn't anything special compared to the other guys there that played on the same stage on the same day.

i was never familiar w kolsch before this event but my friend wanted to see him and i loved every min of his set! i thought coyu was great also. i was excited for marcell dettman but he never did much for me during his set. left halway through it.

i feel so fortunate to have seen visionquest with all 4 members live. from what ive heard that doesnt happen often and that was their only 4 member group stop in all of north america.

it would be so cool to see 2 vinyl only tents next year. the beats and the outdoor vibe at that arena were just perfect. capriati played the SICKEST remix of danny tenaglia-elements ive ever heard in my life. it was crazy how moderately full the big top was all day with a lot of room to dance and as soon as he went on it was JAMMED which was fine and expected. my friends who had never see capriati before this were blown away. they had no idea what they were in for after i explained how good he was from his BKWRHS set back in march. that dude is on a level most cannot even come close to in my opinion.

Kolsch wasn't even there - he got sick and didn't travel. I believe that was Oliver Weiter who replaced him.

Top sets for me:

2000 and One - sure, he train-wrecked a bunch of times but he was laying down some hard, driving techno. The crowd ate it up. Dude was absolutely trashed too hence the obnoxious behavior lol.

Capriati - solid
Liebing - It's a shame this tent was so empty. He closed it down while everyone was at the mainstage for Kaskade. Great set.
Pete Tong - A LOT of vocals but very fun
Moby - Would rather see him in a tent than the Mainstage
Vinyl state was banging all weekend

Fantastic venue and the 21+ crowd had great vibes the entire weekend. The rain sucked all Saturday but the weather the rest of the weekend was great.

Food lines were too long but the beer tents and the Jack Daniels tent were so key.

Till next year!!!

Really?! Could have fooled me, I was standing in the back but Weiter was rocking the same hat as Kolsch and ! LOL- I just thought he was mixing instead of doing the live show, but this makes more sense.

Still a solid set I thought
AY STAR
how big were the techno tents?
crowd size?
