Clubbers Bill Of Rights

This is interesting. In Mexico, the federal government just published a list of the clubbers bill of rights. Any club that doesn't follow them can get fined or shutdown. They even set up a hotline where you can call to report the clubs.
If only the US would follow suit.
- DOORMAN: No establishment can select their clientele as this amounts to DESCRIMINATION. On other words, the bouncer can't decide who gets in and who doesn't.
- BOTTLE SERVICE: No establishment can deny the use of a table for not buying a bottle. On other words, any one can sit on a table as it pleases.
- Alcohol prices must be in plain view or in a menu. On other words, this is to prevent on surprises when paying for drinks.
- Clubs can not make you buy a minimum. On other words, they can't say "$700 minimum" or something like that.
- "Bottle Service Fee's" are illegal and can't be charged.
- Tips/Gratuity are optional and not mandatory. Clubs can't make you pay for them.
- PROMOTIONS: If the club runs a promotion, they must honor it. |

| This is going to be tough to enforce. The federal government has a department whose only job is to regulate clubs since they've had so many issues with them. The bad thing is, they mostly focus on Mexico City, not the rest of the country. |

| Let's push for an Honesty in DJ'ing law in the USA. No touching of the decks unless there is an appreciable EQ adjustment to be made :) |

I don't know how enforceable this is, I was just in Ensenada because my good friend Sandro Silva played down there.
And from the looks of it, looks like some of these things weren't being enforced.
On a side note, Mexico is HUGE for EDM right now. By the numbers, and the turn out to the events, big cities like Guadalajara, Monterray and of course the main one and capital DF are making up a HUGE amount of facebook likes, activity and just general social media movement.
But the GIRLS!!!!
