| Your kick is really drowned out. Bring down the levels of whatever is causing this (might be that everythig is too loud). Lot's of energy, good movement. Keep working at it. |

Hey man I listened to a few of your tracks
The uplifting one in the youtube link sounds good so far, but your kick doesn't have any hi end so I would add some eq to that. Use some more loops/percussion to fill out the frequency range of your track and to add some more energy. For uplifting the track should have a lot of drive and energy to buildup to the break
If I were you I would listen to some of my favorite tracks and try to reproduce them or make something similar. Ask yourself, what makes this track so good, or what makes it have so much energy? Then try to re-create it. The main thing I struggled with and still do sometimes is leaving the track too thin and it has no movement. It takes awhile to train your ear but it speeds things up if you think about professional tracks while you produce
Hope this helps man |

You're right but I'm not sure what is causing this... I think that my kick loses volume and power when I compress and add a limiter to the track before uploading it. I'm probably doing it wrong. |

Do you group your tracks together? The best thing you can do is mix within groups to get the levels you want, and then use that master fader for that group to mix around your kick. I have all my percussion in one group exactly how I want. Saves a lot of time down the road. Try this with everything, percussion, FX, acid, leads, bass etc etc. The next step you really have to develop and learn to hear. Start with one set of sounds (Perc, pads, whatever) and go from there. Really focus on the kick. As you adjust your levels listen for when it over powers the top end of the kick (or the bass). It's best to go in .5 db increments. Over time your ear will be more sensitive to this. This may seem like a big task but it needs to be done from the beginning. If you don't know much about compressors and limiters don't use them. Your track will be quiet, but its senseless just slapping on a tool you know you should use, but don't know how.

Thanks for the tip!
I just watched a tutorial about EQing and mixing multiple tracks at once via busses in Logic!
I'll be able to do as you say with this method! |

| I was listening to your uplifting trance on youtube and it seems like you have a good idea of the song structure etc. The main problem that i hear is EQ. For example, the very first pad. The pad have way too much bass, try cut off like 250-300 hz (and only that change will make a hell of a difference on your whole track). In general, EQ bass cut is the ! You don't need much of the bassy freq on every instrument except for the kick and bass of course. So even at leads, strings, arps etc, try to cut out a little bass to leave more space for the kick and bassline. It will make a lot of difference! |

| Yeah I'll probably try to do the mixing all over again on my older tracks so it will sound better! thx for the advice. Did you hear my last one on soundcloud? (I linked it) I think the mixing is way better than on my uplift one on youtube! |

| Yes, i was listening to your last one now, and it sounds way better! Still a little too much bassy freq in the mix, but absolutly not too bad at all! I liked the emotional atmospher around the song, it was really cool! Nice leads etc! |
