Armed gunman at my school today!! Police and Swat raided the school

Today my school had an oktoberfest event (which I DJed at) and during the last band... we had some police come with shotguns and stuff, and everyone had to evacuate onto the field. we had no idea what was going on, but there was supposedly a student with a handgun or something.
The Canadian equivalant to the SWAT team came. They came in some truck, and they were all geared up and had machine guns .. and they stormed the school and did a check.
They tracked the guy to his house, and arrested him there.
On the news later that night I found out who it was, and it was a guy I know. Appearently he had been loading a gun in school and someone saw him and called the police.
I knew this guy alittle, played cards withhim before.. he seemed like a pretty good guy. He used to wear a bullet proof vest to school.. and he had been shot before and showed me his bullet wound.
Well.. was an interesting day. And now Im tired.
anything like this happen to you guys? I know it happens more frequently than I might think.. but generally my school is pretty safe. ah well. |

| Must have been Unionville high school.....dude got found with a modified starter pistol which could shoot a .22 caliber bullet. |

and since when did the swat team come in to find someone and then realize hes not there

They didnt bring a swat team or bomb squad when my school had a bomb threat last year, so they must have really taken this gun threat pretty seriously, and perhapse they had some other kind of information that we, the students, didnt know about.
I think they realized that he wasnt in the school, and thats why they tracked him to his house, but did a routine sweep of the school anyways, just incase he was storing stuff there. |

YEAH hey WTF?! did you see the guys with the colts? ...that was cool...i just came home taking my 3 hour lunch :D and i see everyone stadning out side..and i was like...wtF? a firedrill on oktoberfest?? then as i got closer i saw the ctv camera crew , a couple of police cruisers, and a big van marked "York Region Emergency Response", or something liek that pulled up...i didn't see much happen tho.

| in 9th grade a riot broke out in my school. In the weeks leading up there had been more tension than usual between the armenians and mexicans, and finally everyone went ape, and we had to get evacuated, they called in riot control is was scarey as hell. |

| well, once, some kid w/ a kerosene molotov was busted by police at my school...sad thing, his sister went to the same school, and i know her...but nothing else happened, and we arely talk about it anymore |
