Read it on FB, it was a great club with a good sound system and we'll surely miss it. On another note the trance events will prob continue to another venue as I was told by Donnie.

I hear a Top 40 joint called Passion (in the same plaza) is taking over.

The way I look at it, it's not a big deal. There is a definite market in that area as well as Miami for house/techno/trance. A new venue will always fill the void. Like with Treehouse...Trade popped up and is even better. Then again Treehouse is still going they just don't get the quality events they used to.
Faceplant
Trade was already open for months before link/rebelz moved there but ya, funny how it always work like that. Pretty sure thug****** was their grand opening and they were having events every once in a while, but link and rebels blew the door of with their quality bookings. The music gods make it be!!!!

Yeah definitely. It's really about which promoters are pushing a particular venue and not the other way around. Trade without Link/Rebelz wouldn't be . And Treehouse would've never been without them either. Story would just be an EDM joint without those guys. The strong promoter alliances have all the industry connects, access to all the new up and coming DJs whom people are dying to see, and have the reputation and knowledge to pull it all off, while giving people a good show -- not just the DJ. I'd like to see Link/Rebelz one day do what Verboten did in NYC...open their own spot. Something that is purpose-built totally from the ground up for that kind of music that they host with their vision incorporated. Treehouse as cool as it was, had many flaws. The traffic flow pattern for instance.

That's why with Gryphon -- who really gives a . It was a decent space but nothing amazing. The sound was good and they had good parties, but you can do the same thing in LOTS of spaces all over South Florida. They'll convert some other place (probably Passion) to be the next "spot" in Hollywood/FtLaud.

ucforange was def correct on this one. The next trance act is Dash Berlin at passion which was formerly gryphon for those who don't bother to read. I'm not gonna brother making an event thread but i might go hmm.

Passion is not formerly Gryphon. Passion has been around for just as long. Passion will step in and take over EDM acts and cheese. Nervo, Dash and some other's I know coming up. I wouldn't expect any proper tunes.

I'm already in the process of sorting a new spot before the open of something new at the end of the year. Don't expect the trance bookings to go to Passion either.

And you really can't do that with any other room in Fort Lauderdale buddy. Passion is a 2000 person room that sounds like a tin can at times, bright as day in there as well. There really are no other mid sized rooms in the broward county area at all. It truly was the only proper midsized club room down here. You obviously never made it to any parties the first part of the 10 years. There's was a lot going on behind the scenes that we aren't at liberty to discuss but just know it wasn't our fault the doors had to shut. Difference's and agreements couldn't be reached.

I've never been downstairs at passion but I can confirm, it's not a nice dark atmosphere. Not a club I would attend for trance. It's good for top40 yolo and that's about it.
