Yeah same litter and you're ok.

Get a dog. They actually can go out for a walk and can help keep your place safe. You can't walk a cat and if your place is broken into, there is high probability your cat will lead the robbers to where you hold your most valuable items. It's true.

Don't hide your ice in the meow mix and you'll be ok.

It's a bit too late for that, unfortunately. My kitten's mother is actually a stray cat, and we found the litter with 4 kittens in a classroom.

We tried to catch the mother, to no avail, because the handyman wanted to kill them all and we wanted to avoid a felicide. To be on the safe side, I adopted my cat and, on the following day, the mother rescued two other kittens. I could've adopted the remaining one, but a colleague promised she'd take care of her (in hindsight, I should've done it, because she forgot to take the kitten to the vet and the poor thing died the following morning).

Long story short, her litter is no more.

I live in a studio flat inside a gated community. If I get a dog, it's going to be a small one, hardly the kind of guard dog that would help me under these circumstances :p

Not too hard to look after 2 cats compared to 1, while they're young they should learn to get along.

I just adopted a kitty off the streets myself. He's about three months old. From what I can tell, it's just youthful energy. This ****** is all over the place. My sis is in vet school (and works at a vet office) and says that's just their demeanor until they're about a year old. Like someone said, they're solitary animals. They might want your attention, but they don't need it. Apparently they start to chill the out when they turn one (can't wait, lol). Weird, too, cause I get these guilt trips like I'm not entertaining him enough or providing enough toys. He's got plenty. I'm about to order him a king of a tower, too. ****** will be sleeping better than me, lol.

What about cat food? What do you cat lovers feed yours?

So far, I'm giving him half a can of wet in the morning (9 Lives) and free-feeding him dry (Purina). I heard 9 Lives is so I'm about to switch to filet minion and show every critiquing what's really up.

I have a friend who has 9 cats. She had 10 but her 120 pound dog fell asleep on top of one of the kittens and it died. :(

Pulled a Chris Moltisanti, huh?

I'm the same, really.

Although I buy kitten food for my 3-month-old cat, she feasts on dog food the moment I take her to my parents' place :p

And that's about it. I don't think you need to give him wet food any more... Or was it your sister's recommendation?

google it. i'm sure internets have plenty on this

I just took my cat to the vet about a month ago. He suggested to to feed like 3oz wet food and like 1/2 cup to1/3 cup dry daily. I guess the wet is supposed to help with protein absorption.

I have been hesitant to do the wet food though, because wet food definitely accelerates dental hygiene issues… lots of plaque build up.

Also, to your original query about getting another kitten, I would say do it. I crossed paths with my two cats in a very similar way that you outlined in your original post. Born by a feral cat behind a bakery that I worked at, there was a litter of 5 kittens. Two drowned in a thunderstorm and then I took two and a co-worker took the other. I can say though, those two cats really have a special bond.
