Hi everone. :)

19 years old French (warning about the potential mistakes ;) )and passionate of music, I've never really tried to understand it ... but the time has come and I'm ready now. I wanna learn everything: theory and practice. First of all, I need to learn the vocabulary as if I was starting to learn how to talk: have you got specific websites ?

Then, regarding the devices I should have, what could you advice me ?
I've got a synthe Yamaha Piagerro NPV 80, a sequencer recorder ZOOM H4N, and the evaluation verison of cubase LE4 (that I've never really used: gift from my father, I've never really understand why ahah, maybe it's gonna be usefull now) !!! A Greg Bennet acoustic guitare, a prodipe mic and my computer is an ASUS N56VB-S4 190B ... :)

Concerning the music I like i'm currently more interested in techno/electro/dubstep (Gesaffelstein, Brodinski, boysnoize, skrillex etc ... And that's also that kind of music I'd like to try to "produce", to make ! :)

Thanks a lot for your future help !!!

Firstly welcome to TA and I hope you brought lots of lube ;)

To be honest, you are right at the very beginning stages and the best advice I can give you is to first read, and read as much as you can. Even if it doesn't all make sense immediately, it will go in to the grey matter and help you along the line.

Read this (and all the links in it):

http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...s=#.U7hIRvldXng

Then here:

http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...s=#.U7hJBfldXng

One word of warning - don't expect to be spoon fed here - the regs are always happy to help but there's nothing worse than someone new just asking incredibly obvious questions because they are too lazy to read an FAQ or basic tutorials which many people on here spent HOURS working on for that very purpose: To help Newbs.

Finally, if you have questions:

A) Do a search first. It's actually better to good the thing you're looking for and the word Tranceaddict as google does a better job of searching these forums.

B) When you do ask a question, make it specific and include as much detail as possible.

Not "how do I make schranz like Andy Blueman". That will lead to a lot of people (myself included) not giving you the time of day.

Good luck and let us know when you need help!

you're making a good start - play with cubase, find a way of connecting your synth to your computer. will add a lot more later.

I'm not sure how compatible cubase LE (which must translate cubase the in french) is with 7.5, but I'll send you a project to play with if you like?

Hi,

Thanks for the lub and your answers. :gsmile: No worries, i'm not this person looking for immediat results ... not anymore. Internet is huge, and I'm lost really easily on it(don't know where to start, which information is right, which on is not and then decide, make a choice ...) that's why I'm asking experienced people to help ... and of course to gain time. You can't learn for me, that's true and just posting a link as you did would probably have taken you less time than trying to explain me how bad was my first thread on this forum ... because I perfectly know how it can be interpreted. :) I just wanted help to start ahah
Anyway, I'll follow your advises, and read everything, thank you very much ! :)

Btw I just download the FL Studio 11 demo version, I'll let you know what's going on with it. I was used to have cubase but on my previous computer ...

Thanks again.

FL is probably a good idea, I think people generally find it easy to get started with, plus it has some VSTs included. There are tons of tutorials out there. Basically you just need to look up how to create a MIDI sequence and how to load up a synth, then flip through patches and start tweaking them. That will get you on the road.

Bonne chance.
