Exactly...about the CUJO thing.

One of the main reasons why they survived as long as they did in the last playoffs was cause half the time Cujo was standing on his ing head while the defence was still trying to figure out how to hold their sticks properly. If Cujo was still on the team now, then I'm sure the Leafs would do a lot better this year. And all he wanted was a 5th year from Toronto, at no extra costs if I remember correctly...and the idiot Quinn didn't give it to him, cuz he would've been getting old by the 5th year    Belfour was such a better choice

Let's give Belfour a chance to prove himself, I'd much rather be behind a player who actually is excited to be here and will work his butt off. I've never really been a Cujo fan ever.

CUJO waited as long as he could have to see if the leafs had any intention of improving the team... when he realized the incompetence of Quinn and his staff, he did the next best thing for himself personally, went to detroit... everyone else would have done the same, he needs a cup and with red wings this season, he'll get exactly that...

Quinn should step down as GM! well as coach too... i mean whats with this dump and chase strategy?! IT DOESNT WORK IN THE PLAYOFFS... sure it will get you lots of points during the season, but as soon as you hit a team in the playoffs thats enforcing the trap, you're ed...
mr. poopyhead
actually, i think the leafs did make a BETTER offer than detroit to keep cujo. of course, he wanted to play for a contender.

plain and simple belfour is the answer for Toronto, Cujo seems like a bit of a trader after what he did. I mean he was a good goalie but he went for the money (but that's his choice). There are so many good players in the league that have played and have never won a cup. But whatever what's done is done. And Kidd is only good as a back up goalie. They still need to get rid of Reichel and Hoglund but than again who wants them.
TranceGeek
^^^ no dude, cujo didn't go for money, because toronto offered him more than what he got from detroit

i agree on the reichel/hoglund thing though... why are they still around?!

At no extra costs? are you kidding me? Cujo wanted to be the highest paid goaltender in the league.....ahead of Patrick Roy, Hasek, and Brodeur  What a doofus he was. I'm sorry but Cujo is nowhere in the league of someone like Patrick Roy. Roy carried a team of no names when he was in Montreal and took them to a Stanley Cup.
The leafs have always been amongst the league's top money spenders while Montreal has always been near the bottom.
What makes anyone think Toronto didn't have a half decent team???? are you guys watching the same games as I am?? The Leafs finished 3rd overall in the standings last year!!!!! and led the league almost all the way with total goals!!!

Any goaltender would love to have a team like the leafs play in front of them, think about it the Leafs were not willing to trade Kaberle for Lindros, doesn't that tell you something?. The truth is Cujo is not a money goaltender, remember what happened when he was in St. Louise when Cujo had a kickass team playing for him and they faced the Leafs in the 7th game of the semifinals?....exactly, Cujo lost 6-0.

He wants to be the highest paid goaltender in the league ahead of god himself Patrick Roy?

The Leafs did everything they could to keep Cujo including making a higher offer than Detroit but seriously if Cujo wanted to win a Stanley cup, how many other teams can compete with the reigning Cup champions Detroit. I don't fault him for going there, it's his perogative.

The bottom line is that the Leafs have probably the best 1-2 goaltending tandem in the league with Belfour and Kidd right now. Any coach would die to have a combo like that and right now Leafs fans are still complaining. Face it, Cujo is not a money goaltender, he's a stiff and always had good teams playing in front of him. When it's all on the line Cujo can never get the job done. If Detroit wins again the cup this year, Leafs fans will be bitching again hollering Cujo carried Detroit to the cup
It's not because of Cujo if Detroit wins...

Cujo is gone now and good riddance to that premadonna. I'm glad he's gone and now I'm cheering for Belfour. Hope we win the cup this year so we can stick it to him!!!

Ya, you're right, Kidd is just in amazing...

And ya, I was watching the same team as you...I remember how they lost to Atlanta after giving the puck away. Geee, its overtime, your playoff life is about to be ended...you don't make dumbass mistakes like that, and give it away to the opposition. I'm not saying the Leafs are a completely ty team, cause they can score...they just need a more balanced team.

If the Wings do really bad this year, then you can all say that Cujo is a goalie.

You ppl think that Detroit is gonna win the cup this year, not likely, I know the season just started so what, that team changed quiet alot, the coaches, and few players too, I would say teams like Stars, or Av`s or maybe Kings are going to kick Wings butt this year.
Projekt4.o
And I want to add somethin to this goaltending thing u ppl are sayin, now at least we have two decent goaltenders and not only one. Well Schwab wasn`t so bad, but still I think Belfour and Kidd are much better then Cujo and Schwab, in the net. Tho I would say Kidd is a bit unlucky, three games and each games lost by a differnce of one stupid goal.

Kidd is a friggin' backup goalie! It's only his third game in, give him a chance before making judgements like that. Trevor Kidd is a great goalie and I'm glad we have him as backup.

I also never said that Cujo was a goalie. I think he's a stiff and a premadonna for wanting to be paid more than Roy and Hasek when he's nowhere in the league of these two. Cujo in my opinion is VERY OVERATED. Only people in Toronto hold him in such high regards. Had he played in a smaller market team and not in the hockey hotbed town like Toronto and gets all these media exposure, he wouldn't dare make such outrages demands.

Since this is the Leafs thread, I want to ask u ppl what do u thought of tonites game against Coyotes, I didn`t saw the game tho I know they won 5 - 3.
I hope the defence gets better, cause they really suck, in the game against Pens and Rangers they did a very poor job most of the time in defending their zone. Maybe cause some of them, the players, haven`t a chance to play with each other, maybe that`s the reason, but I don`t care they better, the pairs, they get used to each other qucikly or the team will struggle against teams from our divsion, Sens Sabers etc.

Leafs played well..

it was a must win game in my opinion also..

Good for Kidd after putting in a horrible effort against the rangers he played well today..

The same old story continues though.. WAY WAY WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too many give aways in there own end.. WAAAAAYYY too many odd man rushes..
