while i agree with you, i dont think there is a club in nyc that could handle this. if it were to be featured at a larger room like hammerstein it would be like fsoe. over booked with short sets, or as pacha/rpm is known for doing "extended sets" gimmick with 2 of the headliners which would be 2.5 hour sets and other guys doing an hour.

imo the only real place they do it properly is down in miami for wmc with label showcases.

I'll have just started training for my new job and I'm more than sure that I'll have the weekends off. Pending confirmation I'LL BE THERE!

This exact event happened at Space during wmc and yes it was sickening. Cap and Adam went b2b from 9 am - 2 pm to finish the night/morning / day.

And it seems like I might be in the minority but I love outdoor festival-like events. I actually love it anytime there's something good going on that doesn't involve being in a club until very late that night. Big outdoor parties just have a fun factor that club events simply don't have. Clubs are fun but staying awake until the sun is out is just havoc on your body.

If you decide to go let me know Chris. I'm about 90% sure I'll be going and it'll be nice to see you again!

Eh honestly you really can't do a good label showcase without a club that can be open 10+ hours. I'd rather see Bayer and Ida solo a club night, Fitzpatrick solo a club night (pls pls pls pls pls), or some other combination of two or three DJs. An hour a piece doesn't do a techno DJ justice.

Didn't Fitzpatrick just do an Output set last January or something?

And Drumcode artists do things all the time at the various big clubs in NYC. It's not like you don't get those events as well because they definitely happen.

I've seen all sorts of Drumcode events from Awakenings to marathon Space (Mia) sets to club nights and my favorite ever event is still the Awakenings night where most of teh DJs only got 90 min to 2 hours. I think it's a myth that a DJ needs 4+ hours to play proper. If it's a well-executed label party the DJs will program it accordingly and it just transitions into the next DJ very well.

Nothin wrong with that! seen all those guys in Detroit the couple times I've been there always a crazy show. Ben Sims could be considered a Drumcode DJ btw. :toothless

you can't even go there in your dreams.
too many innervisions, we should be so lucky.

just looking at the names on Dave's list, no brainer, and better music too.

But OK, this could've been good, but not with the venue.

why the hell can't they stage this at the compound?
It'll hold about as many as G.I., can go much later, nuff said.

Clubs? all said here already, the space doesn't exist in the city, and the places we know suck on these type of nights

He did, it was a Thursday and I couldn't go. Or maybe a Sunday. Something stupid.

I just think Fitzpatrick is one of the best techno producers and DJs in the game right now. The rest of Drumcode's releases are compared to what he does.

Still, the Drumcode DJs are good. They're not Liebing or Klock or Drumcell status, but they're solid. The one problem is I get tired of hearing the same tracks day in and day out though. I feel like Beyer's podcast isn't always that fresh.
