i have j00f's 'for your ears only' mix cd, and history of trance (euphoria) and they are excellent examples of non-mainstream trance mixes. using the more obscure tracks and remixes and a lot of gems i have never even heard before... impressed. it's like a time warp, but an original one.
the tracklists and the mixes themselves are impressively fresh. and the euphoria one was done in 2010 yet avoids reusing the same old crap that has been done to death.

quick example: was only aware of one digger tune (church of ra)
does he do anything like this these days? or is it all psy?
these mixes take me back to when gatecrasher was untainted :D |

The last couple of times I've seen him he's played more techno in his set than psy. Depends really on the particulars - venue, crowd, time, length of set. He almost always plays a bit of psy at some point or other though.
If you want a psy-free J00F, it's best to rewind to the early '00s (2000-2002) when he was more progressive. Any of his Euphoria CDs from that era would do you. For me, J00F doesn't get any better than this mix. Absolutely driving all the way through:
