Are these decent turntables to start learning to mix on?

Hi
I'm really completely and utterly naive on the issue of dj turntables etc. I'd like to start learning how to mix & also want some turntables to listen to vinyls on.
Someone has made me an offer for gemini ps 626 pro2
for about $100 orso. Is it worth it?
I'm going to buy or not buy them based on the suggestions/comments made here, so please help me out.
If they aren't worth buying, then please say why.

| I believe that table is belt driven which you want to stay far away from. In theory, the best table and only table you should learn on are tech 12s. They are the industry standard and have a unique feel, learn on something else and you'll have to just relearn on the techs at some point. |

| hey, i'm almost positive that DJ Guangzhou is right in the fact that their belt drive tables. Do not even consider buying belt drive turntables. I also agree that you should save up for the technics but there are a few others that will do a very good job for less cash. If you think you're going to take DJing seriously then save up and buy the techs. But don't even think of buying these geminis off this guy. |

| Whatever the case, when you decide to get some turntables, Technics 1200s are the only way to go. Yes, they cost more but you will be much happier with them in the long run....and they last forever (of course, that also depends on how you treat them). It's well worth it to hold out until save up enough for them. |

| P.S. Should you not be able to hold out for Technics 1200s, then make sure whatever you do decide on is direct drive NOT belt driven. |

| I learned on my friends Numark's. Im not sure what there called there the ones with the digital read out. Because I learned on those now when I use tech's everything is so much easier. |

| You will be using the 1200s at virtually every party you play at so starting out with them is a really good idea. If you decide to stick to spinning you will have the decks for really long time, and if you give up on it after a while you can sell them without losing too much money ... so it's a win/win situation ... |
