Acon Multiply - very cool new chorus plugin

Just downloaded this and it's very cool. Apparently, it uses a phase randomizing filter approach to avoid comb filtering effects. You can dial in the amount of dry/wet and even use the built-in EQ to apply the chorus effect to a specific frequency range. Best of all, it sounds soooooo smooth. Best-er of all.....it's FREE (no dongle, no registration, nothing - just download and use it).

Thanks Cryo. I have to admit at first when I was reading your description I was thinking to myself "where is the super luxury overpriced plugin pricetag?". Then I saw free :D

When I saw it on my ProToolsExpert FB feed this morning, I thought the same thing!

Damn, this looks great Dave. Will give it a shot when I'm back at home....

One very cool feature of this plugin is that the high-pass and low-pass filters have continuously variable slopes. Turn the dry signal down all the way and bring down the low-pass (pink) filter down to around 1500 Hz. You'll see a little pink triangle appear to the left of the low-pass bar. Drag the arrow to the left to slowly blend in some of the signal that is above the low-pass frequency cutoff (you'll see the curve change). Same thing (but opposite) for the high-pass filter. You can also adjust the slope for the two shelf filters, but the effect isn't as noticeable. Brilliant.

its up against Ubermod for me so ill be interested to see how it fares :)
thanks

It doesn't have the range or depth of Ubermod and it's definitely more about subtlety. It's also pretty much just a dedicated chorus and doesn't venture into delays and other mod effects, like Ubermod does.

Was really nice you posted this as I just purchased Uhbik for my FX and am super happy with it, I don't think there is a better FX bundle for the price. However, one of the only things it doesn't come with is a chorus and now I have that :D

Playing around with it and it sounds good!
