seems to be done with. that was quick..from their fb:
"Sankeys Manhattan is dead.....Long live Sankeys Brooklyn"

they didnt do well in manhattan, dunno why they feel they can make it in bk
but oh well
viperx29
Wow that sucks......Sankeys was actually a pretty good venue
Neonbeats
They need to get a low ceiling warehouse type venue, bring over the lights and sound system, get real promoters involved instead of 100 guidos, and then maybe they'll have a chance.

Yeah man. I liked it. J00F was intense there.

I think they need a smaller location overall, though. The upstairs space is pretty big, that room could hold a major DJ. When parties feel thin they don't go over well.

lol.. So lets move to BK cuz output and verboten are successful? If that is their logic than they're setting themselves up for disappointment again.

I think they're moving to brooklyn for the obvious fact that their rent will probably be pennies compared to their city location.

that's def a start. new managment as well.
i think one reason they are moving besides doing poorly is space nyc (which and if it opens) is gonna be run by the same people. i dont think they want to compete agaist each other in the city. have space cater to city folks bridge and tunnel. while sankeys brooklyn will be for people in the 5 boro's. i could be wrong but thats just my logic.

that venue was just too big for them. they always had the upstairs closed as well as the basement on most nights

we will see what happens

this is one of the main reasons theyre moving. my friends friend works the door and said exactly this and that they are way behind on rent owed. cheaper in brooklyn.

Of course it'd be easier to make it in Brooklyn. The rent is probably a fifth of what it is in Manhattan. C'mon guys....

You get what you pay for... The potential to establish a financial SUPER CLUB, ie.. Pacha, Webster Hall, etc etc... is only realistic in manhattan.

There is a limit to how big a club can get in brooklyn or any other outer boro for that matter. Places like Verboten and Output are executing and performing as well as one can expect. However, even they are forced to think out of the box with their rooftops and their mornings raves..

Right but Pacha brings in lots of EDM DJs whom bring in lots of revenue. From a financial standpoint, that style of music is superior. Bottles and models crowd spends a lot more money than anyone else. If Sankeys went this route, than they'd be competing with Pacha, Marquee, etc. And not to mention, all the real music fans would be pissed off they sold out.

Pacha's revenue I'm assuming is on a 'nother level than what Output or Sankeys does.

Well that sucks...I never got the chance of going. D36 was great though
