Substance Abuse
View this Thread in Original format

Im doing a reserch paper on the effects of substance abuse, either drug related or alcohol.
One of the topics Im gonna cover is behavior (permanant/semi permanant) that ppl have because of abuse.

Is there anything abnormal that you do or have seen other ppl do that you think is from drug/alcohol abuse? Are ppl in general happier ppl, or just odd. One other point I want to clarify is that Im not talking about ppl who's done so much drugs theyre vegetables now.

Thanks.

hehe yea something like that. Personally, ive done my fair share of fun and nowdays i find myself forgetting a lot of things and its gotten extremely hard for me to concentrate on engineering hw for more than an a coupla hours. Some other things I do, not sure if its from drugs, but i find a lot of things in life funnier than before and its embarrassing at times, but hey, its good to be able to laugh at things.

Whats frustrating for me is sometimes ill go upstairs to get something and when i get upstairs, i forget why I went. I hate that.

Most people feel that they are better off when they are ddicted to those sort of things, thinking that they are ok it cant hurt them, and cant be convinced otherwise. And most of the time after the abuse has stopped they realized the dangers of what they did.
Just personal experience

A guy we were with this weekend had far too much Ketamine, we went to his room, and he was lying on the floor breathing dead hard, saying he couldn't breathe, then he'd breathe normal, then hard again. He then said something about not knowing whether he was in the real world where he could breathe, or the ed world when the man was on his chest stopping him from breathing.
weirdo :p

when you mix Rx drugs w/ pot or alcohol, it makes you a NASTY person to be around...i learned that in psychology last week...and err, i know from personal experience...

Busy child I've noticed that I too find stuff way too funny sometimes. To the point where I laugh so hard and long I forget what I was laughing at. I've noticed it in a few of my frineds as well. I've also noticed that for a week and a bit after dropping I get agrivated a lot easier, my fuse is shorter. Not that I go and pick out fights, but that people just bother me more. It goes away though.

The memory thing... ahh... huh? Oh yah, memory... uhhh... no I've had no real problems with that. Hey, anyone else see that lamp move?

Cheers,
Fats

I know a fellow who used to be slightly bi-polar (as in not very sever symptoms) who after taking E, speed, meth and a few other things became schitzo, and rather severly. He now is on a lot of different anti-psychotics and is a totally different person. So if you have any mental 'issues' I don't suggest of partying too hard, 'cuz he is now messed for life...

Cheers,
Fats
