Need help.

Im reformating my Hard Disk. I want to split it into 2 drives. I need a program that is run in dos without any windows installed and is also small enought to fit onto Floppy.

what program is best to use and the easist to use.

if youre installing xp, you can create your own partitions when you reformat using the setup program in the cd. otherwise just install and download partition magic

BootIt NG is the answer here. http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/ will have it for a free download and when you extract the zip file, u get an EXE. Run that and you'll be asked to insert a floppy disk and press Y. That's it! Make sure that u read the documentation well before you attempt re-partitioning ur HDD.

i think u can do it through xp

but dos is your best bet buddy

and if u dont know how to format through dos...im not telling you!

i know how to do it in DOS. only prob is any hard drive over 2gig i cant seem to pertition. College only showed me how to do it on a Hard disc at the massive size of 100mb. :(

FAT16 can only handle up to 2 gigs hdds... you have to convert it to FAT32 (or NTFS), included in win95B and better

got it :D i used FDisk then when installing Xp it gave me the option of doing it :)
