The promo blip talks a bunch about detroit but let's be honest, these sound like they're straight out of Schulz' 2005 playlist. I've always had a soft spot for MCprog formula so it's nice to have that sound a bit less cheesy and more stripped down. Sure, they're still quite cheesy but you can probably play these in a techno set without clearing the dancefloor and at the right moment maybe even get a great crowd reaction. |

Hah. Ian O'Donovan has been playing this release alot.
His tracks, along with Oniris, Reference, Greg Gow, etc (even some of Vince Watson's stuff to an extent *edit* and maybe perhaps even Funk D'Void) are of the similar vein. Honestly I would call these techno tracks and not cheesy at all tbh.
^ This one is more stripped down admittedly
I've really been loving this sound the past year. To me it sounds a lot like the stuff back in the early millenia:

I like this track. It seems it's the chessy side of techno I prefer. Can you name other artists which produce "Mcprog-techno"?
Another techno-track, more one the melodic side but with some prog-like elements:

| Whoa that pulse code tune is nice and sick. |

I thought Dink was pretty decent, the only thing I dislike are the amount of breaks in the tracks. It kills the flow for me.
Pulse Code Modulation track posted is nice. |

I must bump this thread, this is by far the best release i have heard this year. If i heard this today on a radioshow i would have thought this was made in 2004.
Unlike everything else made today this doesn't sound minimal or mellow, the kick is punchy, the groove and the bassline is very driving.
Can anyone else recommend more "techno" stuff like this made today? |

I have listened through most of the tracks but i don't think they sound like the 2004 stuff at all. |

Yeah the all remind me of the 2004 sound, the Donovan tracks in particular. But those JT Kyrke tracks are still the best i have heard |
